This hostel had a bit of a corporate/hotel feel, and I usually prefer the more unique places. The facilities were great. Location wasn't near much besides the train station, but easy walking distance to everything I wanted to see.
Loved this hostel. It was very clean and the 8 person dorm we stayed in was divided into 2 rooms so only had 3 other people in my room and we had a ensuite to ourselves. It is very close to the bus train and tram stops for the city centre. The only downside is that it is noisy because the hostel is on the main road but I sleep with noise so I didn't mind it.
Rooms get hot, and Its right on a major street, so windows closed or open you hear traffic all night long. 30 min walk from main train station, and its a straight shot so easy to find. Can also take one stop on metro to get to a station 5 min away from the hostel.
The location is a few stops by tram from Munich HBF, the staffs are friendly enough. However, sofa and cushions on the ground floor smell awful!!!! Facilities are so-so. I think it's a bit pricey compared with other choices in town.
Very small room. Unfriendly staff, always busy.
Staff is ok, apart from a guy whos name starts with M.Youll order a coffee for 1.5€ and pay with a 5€, he'll forget about the change and almost pocket it. He can be found riding the bikes drinking and only taking one order at a time and is unable to check you in.Next you'll find the over priced european breakfast which depletes stock by 9:30. They check you into rooms with no AC and the windows only open a hair. A guy cuts the grass on the roof, ????, at 10am. Wifi is NOT stable. 0.25/0.25mb/s
Not too much to say. I liked it, but it wasn't anything special. I felt safe, the rooms were nice, and they offered a breakfast. The location was kind of far away from most stuff, but just a couple blocks from a metro station. The good news is there is a beer hall across the street.
I had to pay for internet, per 15 minutes. It's located around the corner from the S-bahn. Normal, chain-hostel atmosphere. Not my favorite stay on my trip. This was my most expensive hostel, with the least amenities. It was clean though, with good showers, and a small kitchen.
Great hostel! People who work there are friendly and helpful. Very good location, a 5min walk from the train station, really close to a bar, food, and the famous Augusteiner Brau of Munich. Not much of a bar scene in the lobby area, but a decent place to do some work, drink some beers, or talk to random people. Beds are clean, though you have to make them yourself. Bathroom in the room, as well. Free luggage storage room. Breakfast costs money, so go find a better, more authentic place in town!
Perfect location, friendly nice stuff, so helpful even though they are very busy, but they attended everyone. Very safe. The 6 female room is very big, the bathroom is clean, and also works well the wifi in the room. Love munich so much.
I stayed at this hostel with my 3 friends, we booked a private room and we were satisfied. We also bought the breakfast and it was worthy. It is more hotel than hostel.
This hostel provided everything that was necessary. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the atmosphere was lively. The bar on the main floor got pretty busy at night. The hostel wasn't as centrally located as I would have liked but the train station was only a block away. Some of the staff members were not as helpful as they could have been. I would recommend this hostel to future Munich visitors.
Sharing the bathroom in the 12 person dorm was somewhat frustrating, but it was great overall
The hostel staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. They were well presented and worked very hard despite the busy reception area. I was very impressed by how calmly they were able to meet needs of backpackers with patience and care. One staff member 'Yoko' was incredibly enthusiastic with a permanent friendly smile on her face. As the first member of staff I'd met, she really made me feel welcome and was very keen to offer support. The hostel was clean & had good facilities.
Not in a very pretty part of Munich but very close to trans and trains. Wifi that actually worked in the rooms was a bonus. Clean and modern hostel.
I slept in a 6-people-dorm and my roommates meant to run around and take showers after 12 p. m. That wasn't really considerately. Perhaps the staff can give a hint in the rooms or at reception to be more calm at midnight.
Like all the Meiningers, you get hotel quality in a hostel environment. Huge room which was always clean and easy enough to socialize. Two great beer halls are only minutes away and it's an easy walk to get into the city centre or to the metro.
This hostel was pretty average. The kitchen is very small and hard to work in if there are multiple people. The rooms were nice and spacious. The shared bathroom was a bit dirty, it didn't appear that anyone cleaned it the entire time we were there. The common room was nice but could get pretty loud at times. The wifi was pretty bad too.
Great staff! Awesome atmosphere, especially in the bar where you can meet people to party with if you're a lone traveller. A little more expensive than other places; however, you're paying for not just a place to sleep and shower - so its reasonable.
