Enjoyed my stay there and everything went well. No complaints
The hostal is conveniently located near to the bus terminal and is cleaned daily. The staff are friendly and eager to assist with requests and questions. They serve a hearty breakfast too. Great place to stay in San Pedro de Atacama.
Mamatierra is one of the best hostels we've stayed at during our travels around South America. It's a really clean place with a lovely atmosphere and an excellent breakfast. The staff is very professional and helped us to organise tours with a good company to Valle de la Luna and Laguna Cejar. The only downside is the noise. Our room was in front of the courtyard tables - as most rooms are - and people arriving late or leaving early to see the geysers always woke us up.
My stay at Mamatierra was very nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They passed us the best informations about San Pedro. This was essential for our tip. Besides that the hostel is nice with a very good breakfast! Thanks for everything.

I thought this place was really lovely, more like a little hotel than a hostel. The room was really really nice and the breakfast was great. Its a bit further out of town but San Pedro is a small place so thats not really a problem. Its close to the bus station which is great. The only thing I found a bit weird was that there was no laundry facility. In three months of travel in South America, this is the first place that we were told no. We had to go into town and it cost us a bundle.
The most comfortable bed we have had in months of travel, switched on staff, easy to book tours, eggs and fruit for breakfast. What more could you ask for! San Pedro is a pricy place so it was great to have access to a kitchen. When we wanted to stay longer but they were booked out, they checked us in to Hostel Desert (a little further out of town but similarly comfortable and an excellent kitchen). If you go for early morning tour, your breakfast will be prepared to take with you.
Good wifi. Hot showers. Close to the main street. Would stay again.
Probably the best hostel we have stayed in in South America. If you're reading this review don't look any further in San Pedro!
Best hostel on our six-months trip around the world so far! Staff is very competent and helps with tour bookings. There are cleaners running around during the whole day. Unfortunately, some guest do not take as much care with cleanliness.. Breakfast is varied and simply amazing. There are plenty of blankets on each bed to fight the cold.
You could improve online directions from the bus terminal, it was a bit confusing since street sings in town are virtually absent.
I liked my stay at the hostel, and also the fact that thye make you a foodpacket, if you have to leave early in the morning for a earlt pick up to go on a excursion or for a airport transfer. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. I would go back again to this hostel if in San Pedro.

Mamatierra is an excelent hostel, the girls of the reception are always prompt to help you. Every part of the hostel is cleaned daily. Very good breakfast.
This is a fantastic hostel and relatively cheap for San Pedro standards because it's on the outskirts of town (10 mins walking to center). Extremely helpful staff- they helped us book tours and didn't charge us a night we had booked when we were stuck in Calama due to snow. Excellent breakfast with eggs you can cook! Highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay at Mamatierra. The staff is amazing, very helpful, caring and efficient. Cosy atmosphere, very good breakfast, clean and hot water all the time.
such a chilled out place to stay, the Wifi was fantastic and easiily accessible even sitting outside in a hammock! Great staff and a really nice vibe.
Very well run hostel, helpful staff, good breakfast and spotlessly clean
Nice to stay somewhere off the main touristy strip. Be prepared for the most touristy town of your travels. Breakfast was alright and even had fresh cut up fruit one day. Very thin walls were our major complaint. You can hear normal conversations going on next to you in the night as if there was only a curtain dividing you. Even if someone rolls over in bed or zips up a bag, its audible from the next room. Overall vey clean but we would lookfor somewhere without the sound issue.

It's a very nice hostel to relax after the tours around San Pedro. It's a bit away from the centre but therefore very quiet. There is a small supermercado just next door. The 3-bed-dorm is quite small, but I've never had such a comfortable bed for the last five month of travelling. Lockers are outside the room. The kitchen is very well equipped and the breakfast is big! I appreciated the soap in the toilets and in the showers.
Very nice good hostel. Its a little far from the center of San Pedro back nothing too far away, maybe 10 min walking. Is not a party hostel, but is really really nice place. Very nice staff too.
Very clean, kept dust out of the hostel well. Excellent kitchen and breakfast (don't forget to help yourself to eggs which you can cook however you like!). Friendly helpful staff. Wifi worked well. Showers hot. Located just 5 mins walk out of town.
