Very clean, kept dust out of the hostel well. Excellent kitchen and breakfast (don't forget to help yourself to eggs which you can cook however you like!). Friendly helpful staff. Wifi worked well. Showers hot. Located just 5 mins walk out of town.

Helpful staff who can book tours, decent breakfast - especially liked the fact you got fruit salad and can cook your own eggs, very clean, nice patio area and book swap. Fairly quiet and chilled vibe. Three bed dorms bit on cosy side when you have all your bags in there but fine. Directions from bus station completely incorrect and meant we got lost trying to find the hostel and walked much further than needed to, so ignore them and ask someone when you arrive.

Very nice and clean hostel for Chilean standards. A little outside the centre.

Great hostel. Very clean, Nice kitchen. Be aware that all busses now stop at the central bus terminal of San Pedro, the directions indicated by the hostel in the confirmation mail do no longer count. Bus terminal is now 2 blocks from the hostel. 10 minutes walk to the center, small supermarket (as all supermarkets in San Pedro) nearby.

It's a great hostel for travellers that enjoy quiet and privacy. It is not a hostel where you will be partying and drinking late into the night with other backpackers but is more suited for couples, families and private travellers. The staff were really lovely and breakfast was quite good! It is not too far from town - approximately a 5-8 min walk but feels quite safe. There is also a mini market next door which is cheaper than those in the main town.

Nice hostel just 2 blocks from the busstation and 5 minutes walk to the city center. Great atmosphere (not a party hostel), very clean and good breakfast. Staff is very helpfull and speak english. Also tours are good and the staff confirms them every evening just to be sure you will be picked up next morning.

Very nice and comfortable hostel. The rooms were very nice and clean, they even changed our linen while we were there and towels were provided for free; the toilets were ok, even though they could be cleaner. The staff was very friendly and helpfull, specially Mijal. The breakfast was deliciuos and very big. The only downside was that it was kind of far from the city centre (12 mins walking distance). I would definitely come back.

Hostel was all good. Kitchen clean, rooms clean a bit small. Location was ok, further out than most but not a problem. Nothing negative. Would stay again.

This is a great hostel just 5 minutes walk way from the main plaza and close to the bus station. The rooms are a little on the small size but given the cost of the room there was nothing to complain about. The shared showers were always clean and the water was nice and hot! We spent 3 nights here and loved the peaceful courtyard, a nice place to meet people as well as chill with a book in a hammock.

Great atmosphere but pricey.

We loved staying at Mamatierra! Everyone we met was incredibly nice and welcoming and 4our first time out of the States it was perfect for us! The walk to the main part of town was just a few minutes but we felt really safe so we didn't mind. We had to change rooms one night (we knew ahead of time) because they were booked and we left for a tour reall early so the staff moved our stuff and had the new room all set up for us when we got back! Warm showers too! Overall it was a great experience!

Fairly good hostel. Not a bad place to stay but nothing to make it stand out either. Looking at reviews of others I think this is a theme in San Pedro. WiFi worked well, plenty of hot water, breakfast left a bit to be desired. If you do stay the directions provided by the hostel from the bus terminal are useless. Don't try to use them. See if you can photograph the map in the kiosk of the terminal and use that to find the hostel. It's not too far!

One of the best Hostels we stayed so far! Good equipped kitchen with a great breakfast . Everything was very clean. The staff was very helpful and spoke good english. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the common area was great for socializing as well as relaxing. Our bus arrived just 300 meters away and the it was only a 5 minutes footwalk to the city center. Definately a top Hostel.

Very, very kindful staff! We really appreciate that we could have a shower and a fresh towel after our trip to the Salar de Uyuni although we had no further booking. Thank you so much!

The staff of Mama Tierra is great. They are very atempt to guess needs. I had a great time there. I suggest they search for a better travel agency for the tours because that is the only low point of the hostel. I got late to the geisers and the sunset was not at Valle de la Luna, so, the 2 tours I made trough the hostel connected travel agency did not worked properly. Despite that, Mama Tierra is a great hostel to be. I recommend to friends.

Didn't stay as we headed off to Santiago in the evening. But lovely staff offered us a great breakfast when we arrived needing food in the early morning.

A lovely hostel, friendly, efficient, clean and with a real sense that they cared. the 3 bed dorm I was in was clean and secure but as others have said, all 3 of you can't be sorting backpacks at the same time...space is a little tight! Room 6 is next to the staff prep room, so I was woken by the chat

Staff were all excellent. Paula and all the staff did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable.

generally good beds. One mattress in the dorm should have been replaced as it is quite uncomfortable.
