The staff was always very helpful, and it has a nice atmosphere. Although you have to take the bus to get there, it's a short ride from the city, and it is located at the base of Mt. Ulriken, which is very convenient for those who are planning to go on a trail.

Great place only downfall is location is you want to go to the city but right by mt Ulrich which is great for hiking. Staff are great and extremely helpful. Facilities are awesome and they have a good breakfast in the morning.

The hostel is not in the city center, but has beautiful views of the harbor. If you have a lot you want to do in the city I would recommend staying closer, but this location is good for hiking and short stays.

Excellent place to stay if you plan to hike the behind mountain from where you get the whole view of the city, which is one of attraction of the region, because it is located right on the foot hill of the mt. But if you are into seeing and hanging around the city center it is quite far, never on foot, bus cost some money..

The hostels location was a little far from the city centre but the view from the hostel is beautiful. Perfect location if you want to hike!! Could use some lockers in the rooms and maybe better ventilation! The staff were amazing and there's a supermarket nearby!

Only one problem was about the Internet connection, too bad to even get connected. Besides that, it was a good choice to stay there!

Deep impression to Bergen and Montana´s abundant breakfast, the atmosphere is very relax and the stuff is helpful and warm.a little far from the center and because of the expensive bus tickets, you are recommended to buy the Bergen Card, you can also climb to the top of the moutain to see beautiful night scene ,anyway ,it´s a very happy stay in Montana,I miss their breakfast already;)

The hostel was set up well and we enjoyed our stay. There is a beautiful view from the patio. My only issue was no lockers in the dorm room. We only stayed one night, but if we had stayed more I would have been anxious about our valuables. There is ample common area and parking.

The hostel is a bus ride out of Bergen (which costs 4-5euros one way). It is right near the base of the Ulriken mountain so it's great if you want to do some hiking. Great view from the hostel and a hearty buffet continental breakfast. The room I stayed in was much too warm, even at night because the sun was shining all day and despite the fact that the room had many windows, only 1-2 would open a little (major downside for me).

Lovely Hostel just 20 minutes from Bergen centre- the buses are very reliable! Shame that there are no double rooms on offer. Well equip with all the extras (hair dryer, cork screw), breakfast was brilliant and the lunch pack amazing value for money. Thanks

Yes, this hostel is far away from the city center, but the bus is fairly regular. Also, the view from the hostel is wonderful, and it provides easy access to hiking trails for Mt Ulriken, which I enjoyed. There are lots of places in the hostel to hang out and interact with other travelers, including a big kitchen. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would certainly stay here again.

We went to Bergen for a weekend trip and we enjoyed staying in Montata.. The rooms were okay.. Do carry your linen for sure.. private washrooms were okay... and the breakfast area was very clean and neat. The area was not easily accessible from the city except for that one bus no 12 which never was on time. If you are having a car then this hostel is perfect to stay. All we needed for 2 days was a decent bed to rest at night and a early morning breakfast which we got.. Cheers to the Stay !!

We stayed at the 125 room and the whole floor stinked all the time. It was like being in a toilet all the time so when we entered to our room we opened and closed the door rapidly so the bad smell wouldn't enter the room. Everything else was fine but she we needed to catch an early flight it was very complicated because of the distance from the hostel to the city center. You could arrange a system of shuttle or taxi to center because walking with big luggage is not an option.

The hostel had a good scenic location, with a grocery store less than 100m away and a beautiful outlook of Bergen just down the road. It was about halfway up a mountain, so be sure to take the bus. The staff was friendly, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. There were no lockers available in the rooms, however. The included breakfast was good, and in addition to basics included local fare such as herring and mackerel. Just down the road is the base for the cable car ride up Mt. Ulriken.

There are no lockers. For me its no so good. Few bathrooms for lots of guests. The location is really far away from everything in town. You need to catch a 15 minutes bus for everything. No linen included is hard to accept for me. At least the bed was included. :/ Breakfast and staff were good enough.

Really it was a good stay in Norway. Definitely would do it again. Very helpful staff. Location near hospital was perfect for me and checking on my mom there. Views are really good and the hill walk behind the Hostel is fabulous; much like liking in our own Chugqch Mtns in Alaska. John Quimby

A great hostel overall, with a very large breakfast! Rooms were clean, so were the showers and toilets. Nice common room with sofas where you can relax. The location has its perks and downsides: it is pretty far from the city center, you'll need to take the bus. But the hostel is located on the mountain and offers a pretty amazing views over Bergen! And from there you can hike to the top of Ulriken pretty easily. Would definitely come back! Only issue was the absence of lockers in the rooms.
