Staffs are amazing, really friendly and helpful. Location is a but off the city, around 20mins by bus but just under ulriken mountain. Its a bit costly tho to go and back from city. The only thing let me down was the staff said bfast open 6.30 on weekdays. But monday morning i c/o early and bfast open at 7.
The best thing about the hostel is the location. The hostel is located next to the Mount Ulriken, which is an amazing place to hike. However the city of Bergen is 5 km's away. A bus stops close to the hostel but it is actually even nicer to walk over to the city.

The location of the hostel is not THAT ideal as there is only one bus running between downtown and the hostel. Nevertheless, the hostel itself is a very decent one. The room is spacious and there is a sofa and shelf to place all the luggage. Everything is rather clean and the staff is REALLY helpful. A few things that I think can be improved: wifi connection inside the room, small lockers in the room to place valuable stuff, providing free or cheaper linen package.
Honestly, this was one of my favorite places to stay throughout my travels. Location was perfect - had a great view of Bergen at night. Bus stop was right around the corner, and the entrance to one of the best hikes was right around the corner too. Grocery store right across the road; great kitchen. Cool lounge area to socialize. I will stay again when I come back. Do not listen to people who say it is too far from town - you are in Norway, hike to town or take the bus.
Overall experience is very good and the staff are really good. Cannot expect anything better than this.

great location if you want to hike the mountains but its costly and time consuming to catch the bus into town all the time where everything is. the bus is 30 krone each time so factor that in. facilities are good, no place to lock valuables that i was aware of tho. i did manage to meet some other travellers and do things but wasn't an over ally social hostel, looks like they are trying tho
Good hostel if all you want is a comfy bed for the night. There wasn't really an atmosphere that encouraged meeting other guests, so if you don't mind that or maybe want some time to yourself this is okay. A bit out of town which can be a real bore in general but especially if you plan on heading out at night as the last bus back is at 12.30am.
It was so nice! breakfast is really perfect! I wanna recommand for you!
The beds in dorms are not assigned and it can happen, that you would just be moved out of the one you picked because the stuff decides - without consulting. No lockers. The kitchen is poorly equipped (missing specially cutting knives) and very few stoves for quite significant amount of people using the place.
Shower pods had no shower gel and no place other than the floor where you could leave your own. Pretty inconvenient. Location was really bad, 50 minutes walk to the city centre, busses every hour on Sunday, no bus to the airport. There were a bunch of 6 to 10 year old spanish-speaking children in the hostel, not exactly what I'd expect.
Good value for money accomodation. We had a private room with bathroom and it was perfect for our first two nights in Norway. The bus takes you directly to the centre and to the main bus and train stations.

This hostel is a bit far from the city, but the public transportation is good. I really enjoyed the breakfast provided, but I just wish that there had been Wi-Fi in the building and that the rooms had more outlets and lockers. There were free lockers in the basement, though.
It is a good hostel with reasonable price, the most important thing is that it is clean and safe, so good for girls to stay there, even though it is a little bit far away from city centre(30mins by bus), but I dont think it is a big problem as you need to compromise a little with the price, also you can enjoy the view on road, so not bad. I will recommend this hostel.
A very pleasant, clean, friendly and well-equipped hostel. Helpful and friendly staff and a supermarket almost next door, along with a regular bus into Bergen. Much better than staying in town.
Loved this hostel even though it is so far away from the City centre. Kitchen was big! Awesome view over Bergen (even when laying on my bed) . Met amazing People there. Cookies and coffee for free in the afternoon :) Very yummy breakfast for free :)
The staff was always very helpful, and it has a nice atmosphere. Although you have to take the bus to get there, it's a short ride from the city, and it is located at the base of Mt. Ulriken, which is very convenient for those who are planning to go on a trail.
Great place only downfall is location is you want to go to the city but right by mt Ulrich which is great for hiking. Staff are great and extremely helpful. Facilities are awesome and they have a good breakfast in the morning.
