The family who runs the place is great! They are very knowledgeable and can help you make plans to do excursions or even travel for less than you'll find in touristy places in Ao Nang. You can take the bus into the main area of the city, and overall you'll pay less than staying at a hostel in the city, but it is out of the way. There are a couple of family owned shops nearby, but overall there aren't a lot of services nearby. Overall, it is worth it for budget travelers.
