The internet was either not working or working extremely poorly for everyone.. Was clean enough to cover the minimum. The room which was actually something like a two stories bangalow was giving the impression of a desserted building, no security whatsoever, thin doorlocks.. Staff was helpful and polite.

I didn't like the fact that check in had limited operation hours. It meant I had to wait by chance to be let in so I could wait inside. Initially I thought the gentlemen who let me in was another guest but later after he offered travel tips to the girls also waiting I found out he was a cleaner. Obviously because I'm not female he didn't feel it necessary to introduce himself or offer any advice to me, a male. Generally the attitude of the staff is pretty dismal. Only a 30 minute walk to town!

Nice atmosphere. Staff and guests very friendly. The backyard is the spot to meet other guests and have a bier. I recommand.

There was no lockers where you could keep your stuff during the stay which would have been nice since there was 16 people living in one room. No wi-fi except in the reception but when I tried it it didn't work. Great location, close to the garden district and the streetcars stops close to the hostel.

We booked a private twin bed dorm but got a big dorm with 8 beds. At least we were the only people staying in the dorm but when we tried to use the toilet, the whole bathroom got flooded. There was a hole in the toilets water tank. We had bugs, hairs in our bed, dirt in the bathroom. I've been to a lot of hostels before like in Australia, England, istanbul and Morocco. But this one was the worst.

The worst Hostel I even stay at! Very dirty and falling apart. Staff was clueless and unhelpful. The bathrooms were discussing. Also the light were not working and the doors didn't work. I could write more things I didn't like. It was especial a rip off during Jazzfest and crazy $35 for 14 bed room room with No breakfast and the FIWI didn't work! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

The owner needs to take more interest in the facilities. The location is very good, in that it is in a fairly safe part of tow and is only one block off the trolley line into the heart of town. If the owner is losing interest, There should be an effort to rescue this valuable Hostile property, otherwise it will be lost forever to other economic forces. Dail Doucette

I really, really liked the atmosphere in the hostel. I had a great time relaxing and hanging out with the other hostel guests. The room was quite big so that was nice too! The bathroom was kind of cold though and I didn't like the fact, that you can't lock the door to the bathroom in a 8 bed dorm. The internet connection was really, really bad too! Apart from that I enjoyed the central location and the little yard inside.

Unsanitary: roaches as big as my hand, bed bugs, stains on the linens, hair in the shower drain, food on the floor. Unsafe: no key needed to get into the annex, fragile lock, see-through curtains and no privacy at all. Misrepresentation of the amenities: wi-fi didn't work in the room nor in the common areas. 2 hours after checking in we wanted to cancel the 2nd night. The management was very difficult to get in touch with (they're only there from 7-10 am) but it was so bad we left anyway.

This was the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are filthy. There is mould growing everywhere. I don't think they have a limit of how long people can stay - therefore it was almost like a homeless shelter - people had practically 'moved into' the dorm we were in. The showers have mould in them and seem to get the same kind of cleaning of the rest of the place - read above: NO CLEANING. We asked for a refund for our last night - giving more t24hrs notice and they refused.

For the money, this place was great. I would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. The front desk guy was a little creepy but an extra smile helps! It was within walking distance of bourbon street as well as a trolley and st Charles street had plenty to do as well!

We were in the Hostel for Mardi Gras, and the hostel is in close proximity to the parades. However, they did not clean during the whole time we stayed there in the dorm, and I guess also some time before. The female dorm was very, very dirty. I just removed the old linens from the previous guests and cleaned a little bit around my bed, but I think this was the dirtiest place I ever stayed. The "new" bedclothes I got also had a lot of ugly spots and were not clean at all.

Just a hole in the wall to sleep at... Read reviews of too many locals who sometimes steal from travelers... This is true... Some local stole some travelers family cigarette case (was his grandfathers)

Great place to stay if you're looking for a good time. Half an hour walk from the French corridor. Right on the parade route for mardi gras. Great value for your money. Not the best hostel in the world in terms of cleanliness but in terms of atmosphere, definitely up there. There are people who come and never leave, and it can get rowdy at times but definitely an integral part of our trip.

They didn't clean up for all three days witch I was there and the rooms are smelling...Maybe it's different when there is now Mardi Gras, but for this price was it definitely not enough.

.I stayed there during the Mardi Gras(2013) time as I was unable to find any other place for a decent price. I feel happy that I stayed here, this is almost in the perfect location, only 0.3 miles from St.Charles Ave where the parades pass for family attraction. The French Quarter is also just a mile away so u can say everything is reachable on foot. The person at the front desk was polite, the room was ok as I spent only few hrs there sleeping. It is a regular hostel nothing great nothing bad.

The staff were helpful. No hot water in the showers was a problem especially with the rain and the winter cold.
