Our completely renovated and modernized historic building features a spectacular interior mezzanine, expansive kitchen and dining room, and spacious common areas. HI New Orleans will wow hostel newbies and veterans alike with our comfortable rooms and thoughtful amenities, including fast free WiFi. Proceed right through our lobby to visit Bésame, our local restaurant partner, for cocktails and exquisite Latin American cuisine.

Located just across the street from the French Quarter, HI New Orleans is truly centrally located with quick access to many of our city's vibrant neighborhoods and must-see attractions. You can experience everything from crawfish and beignets to zydeco and parades, and so much more.

HI New Orleans features immaculately clean first-class dorms with ample storage, electronic locks and lockers with in-locker charging, bunk lights, privacy curtains, sturdy bunks, super comfy mattresses, and tons of modern single-occupancy hallway baths and showers. Our private rooms all feature a Queen Bed, modern ensuite bathrooms, Chromecast TVs, and room safes. Book our Queen with Bunks private room to include a bunk bed and accommodate four.

This is my second time staying here. I was here in the Fall 2025 for Thanksgiving holiday and the classics, it was fine. Now, there seems to be a very huge decline in the staff at the front desk, particular Hannah. Hannah has been very rude and downright disrespectful. I asked for Advil, and she assumed I already taken something. Then threatened me about me staying here. I’m in Room 402, and other ppl have complained. She seems like she thinks she is above management. Won’t be back.

I had a great stay here and returned for an additional night to extend my trip. Great location if you’re looking to be in the heart of all the action. Huge kitchen with ample storage and everything you need to cook at home. Comfortable beds, blackout curtains and each bathroom contains a shower. I will be back!
