It is a great stay at North Borneo Cabin. The toilet is very clean and dry. the staffs are friendly. It is located at Jalan Gaya, pretty much accessible to a lot of mall, jetty and night market. Keep it up!

We stayed in a mixture of accommodation and North Borneo was by far our favourite so we chose to extend our stay there. Staff are very friendly and helpful, keen to get to know their guests. Location is great, 5min walk from Suria Sabah shopping centre and bars, markets etc and a 10min walk from Jesselton Point Jetty. We had a double room as it worked out cheaper than dorms, lots of space and they are happy to hold on to bags past your check out time. Chilled out and easy to meet people, clean!

We thought it might be though sharing bathroom but it was actually very clean and neat! The only thing we really didn't like was the breakfast (white toasted bread with some chemical butter that stuck in your mouth and very sweet jam) but it's seemingly a standard at all homestays in Borneo.

Great staff. They are super courteous and helpful if you bother to ask them anything. The rooms are minimal but are clean and comfortable. My only real problem was the wifi , it's not great. But they do have a computer that you can use so that makes up for it a bit. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and seemed to attract a fun crowd.

Good location on the main drag of KK. Staff aren't very talkative but are very helpful if you ask them about something. I enjoyed hanging out in the common room and on the balcony. It's basic but has everything I need in a hostel, so no complaints here.

We're supposed to stay here for 5 nights but left after 2 nights. The hostel doesn't have a character, it seems that the guy from the reception was on his laptop playing games the entire time we were at the hostel. The facilities are basic, the place in general is old and needs some renovation.

Generally good but no air-con😅😅

Nice location especially for Chinese as it is right at Gaya street, which is the Chinatown there. Around the corner there are many local travel agents which provides trips for seeing firefly, proboscis monkeys, hiking at mount. kinabalu and diving. Staff are really helpful. But beware of the room choices and the "deluxe double room" could probably get 3-4 ppl staying so you don't actually need to book more rooms.

The wi-fi was really bad. There was no hair dryer and no laundry. The location is awesome. Its a pretty big hostel so they have many guests which is good when you r travelling alone cuz you can hang out with ppl and share your experience, but on the other hand a bit noisy if you are looking for some peace and privacy.

Located on Gaya street, very convenient. The staff are very nice and helpful. Dorm is quite, except one guy snore loudly very annoying. Little baby is so cute, always sleep quietly.

The location is very convenient to all places. Very close to the central market and water market, the seafood in water market is delicious and cheap. The staff there is really kind and provide many useful information to us. They also help to order taxi to sent us to airport. Before i went there, some reviews said that there are bugs, we got a little worried. But after we arrived there, we are completely relaxed, no bugs at all. It is very clean. The hostel is just next to the famous YOUJI TEA.

Didn't like that the dorms didn't have a key and the beds weren't so good. Location good, especially when the sunday market is on, but otherwise nothing special and not the best place.

100%

The hostel is safe (gate with PIN-code, free lockers), clean, cheap and in a great location (many restaurants, sunday market right in front, close to harbor). The staff is very friendly, they even invited me to have dinner with them in the hostel. They also offer free adapters for your electronic devices. Beds are ok, aircon works fine, just bring your own blanket as the one's provided are very short (if they are supposed to be blankets). I had a great time and would definitely come again!
