Hostelworld says:

We've been working with Oliver St John Gogarty for over a decade and we think they're a great place to stay if you're looking to explore Temple Bar. Each Hostelworld guest receives a welcome package of a free pint, a free CD of traditional Irish music and a free DVD upon arrival. You can cook dinner in the kitchen or pick from the Irish menu at their restaurant or bar downstairs, where there's live trad music every night. Our users frequently remark on the quality of their free continental breakfast, as well as how family- and group-friendly the hostel is.

Property Information:

Oliver St John Gogarty's Hostel is located in the centre of the artistic, bohemian and cultural quarter of Dublin - Temple Bar.

Our hostel offers affordable, central, clean and fun accommodation in the best location in the city! Not only are we budget-friendly but our hostel is part of the famous Oliver St John Gogarty's Irish Bar - the only hostel in Ireland to have a bar on-site!

If you feel peckish, Gogarty's pub serve traditional Irish meals all washed down with the best Guinness in town! Live music is played daily so hostel guests will be entertained from dawn until dusk!

All our rooms and dorms are ensuite; we also have a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area so you are free to prepare your own meals each day. We like to make this a home-from-home so we offer free continental breakfast, great common areas, laundry facilities and all the basics for hire, not to mention a 24-hour reception and no curfew!

Most tourist sites are within walking distance and we offer discounted tickets to some local attractions. Discounted car parking is also available at Fleet Street Car Park!

Temple Bar itself is a network of narrow cobbled 18th-century streets between the River Liffey and Dame Street with Oliver St John Gogarty's right in the centre. Gogarty's consists of three bars and has a restaurant on the top floor, so as soon as you set foot outside the door of the hostel you can immediately feel and hear the electric buzz that is Temple Bar.

Gogarty's Hostel is located in one of the busiest and most popular areas of Dublin City Centre and is ideal for all you party animals who are looking for fun and excitement!!!

Calling all groups! Gogarty's Hostel is group-friendly so if you're planning a stag, hen, celebratory weekend or rugby tour then Gogarty's is your place! If we can't fit you into our hostel we have self-catering apartments, too, which are perfect for any group!

We are now offering a free welcome pint on arrival for everyone that stays at our hostel (provided you're over 18!). When rooms are as little as €12, what are you waiting for?!

Please note: we don't accept children under the age of 12 years.

What puts us ahead of the rest is our location in the heart of Temple Bar; it just can't be beaten. It also means guests can see all the local sightseeing attractions with no transport costs. Temple Bar itself is a tourist attraction and Trinity College is a two-minute walk away, while a five-minute walk would bring you to the shopping areas of Grafton and Henry Street, Dublin's Wax Museum and Christchurch Cathedral, to name but a few. My personal favourite spot is the Guinness Storehouse. Plus, each guest gets a welcome pack which includes a voucher for a free pint of Guinness in our renowned pub, which allows visitors to sample the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub at no cost.
Our main type of visitors is between 22 and 35 years old, ready to eat, sleep drink and party in Temple Bar.

I would absolutely recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Dublin! The location was ideal, a short walk to anywhere, fun atmosphere (created by the fantastic staff and other fun hostel guests). The staff went above and beyond to make my group of 4's stay wonderful. I plan on visiting Dublin again in the future, and will definitely be staying here.
