The hostel room was much smaller than we expected, about 2m by 3m. The location was really great, sitatued in the middle of Temple Bar. The shared bathroom never really looked clean which was a little unplesant. However, giving the good location and the cheap cost of the room, you get what you pay for. It was also noisy at night as it is above a pub that stays open quite late.

Just one key for one room, you always had to disturb other people to get into the room.

Everything about this hostel was great! Sevice was amazing! And it was literally next to all the bars!

Blinds let too much light in - felt like daylight in the room, due to the lights just outside the window.

It was unpleasant to pay to stay at a hostel and not feel like a guest. The reason I felt this way was that Iwas not given a key to my own room. I had to rely on other people that I did not know, to let me in. I did not feel safe or welcome there.

We enjoyed our stay at Oliver St John Gogarty a lot. The atmosphere of the hostel was very welcoming. And we enjoyed having a big bathroom en-suite. The location was awesome in the middle of Temple Bar. But we have to admit that it wasn't easy to memorise the name of the Hostel =), but in the end we managed it!!!! Kind regards, Jenny and Tabby

Great location right in the heart of Temple Bar. Room was basic but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned which is not nice.

I have stayed in this hostel twice now. The best thing about it is definitely its location which is really central and the live traditional Irish music that it has in the pub downstairs. The staff were really helpful and gave us great tips on places to visit and were good with directions. The place seems really secure. But the breakfast room had constant loud TV blaring with sports on, with no way to change the channel and the breakfast was a bit poor. Also it's a little on the pricey side.

this hostel is in a great location but the 'one key per room' is a horrible set up. not only is it unsecure with regards to who can enter the room, but it is inconvenient to have to go up 4 flights of stairs, knock on the door, wait for someone to answer (which never happens), and then go back down stairs, have the staff call someone to come to the front desk, then go back upstairs to be let in every time you come and go. the bathrooms were also dirty

We had a great time in Oliver St John Gogarty. It was safe for 2 women traveling alone w/ 4 kids. Kids were welcome downstairs - soup was really good. Room was a bit cold, which we couldnt seem to get warm- but we did travel during the winter time, so that might be all that it was. The beds were comfortable, the staff was very personable, helpful and friendly. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. We had a blast.

Room was clean with fresh bed linen, bit of a trek up the stairs but its a hostel so who cares! Place looks great. very authentic. We got a free drink voucher each included in our drink which entitled us to a Guinness or Baileys, being Guinness drinkers we opted for the black stuff, pity the barman couldn't pour it, the pint was full of bubbles and it was only left for about 30 seconds to settle, maybe I'm a bit particular being a barman myself.

we would have thought of staying every time we go to Dublin about twice a year the only thing that has put us off is the bunk beds

Good hostel. One key per room is a little annoying and a key is required for the TV room. Perhaps this increases security so no major complaints. I would recommend this hostel. Breakfast, tea and coffees all included in the price which makes it excellent value too

I think it should have more keys per rooms because it's not really handy!

You can take a drink or a meal in the pub, next to the hostel. There is great ambiance with typical music of Ireland. Nice.
