I stayed for two nights, one on each end of a three day hike. It is the low season and the whole town is quiet. While it is a little more expensive than some and does not come with breakfast - a good cafe down the road, I actually enjoyed my stay. I was allocated to a room of my own - with 6 bunks - on both nights. A bathroom, toilet etc to myself. Staff were lovely and the kitchen and recreation areas are huge. Good place to stay. A deposit to use cutlery, or use your own.

We had a nice stay at the hostel and a good time in El Chaltén. Staff is freindly, bathrooms are clean. However, be prepared to bring you own cuterly as they do not offer them in the shared kitchen (but it is also possible to rent at the front desk when giving a deposit).

It is a very nice hostel, people are very friendly. And there is also a man playing the guittar and singing Brazilian music. Just loved it! The only thing that it could be better was Internet access. It is awful! You just cannot get connectec to your friends and family - and this is important when you are far from home.

Its more a hotel with dorms wthan a hostal which has its costs and benefits. It does not quite get the traveller vibe of a normal hostel but you get nice big rooms, each with a seperate shower, bathroom and washsink along with enormous lockers and also large common spaces. The kitchen does not have any utencils and was a bit dirty a few of the days we were there but thats more other travlellers. The staff ere also very helpful and if you take cal-tur bus you can get dropped at the hostel.

Friendly staff. In between the town and start of the walks, although it makes no difference - the village is so small everything is a 5 minute walk anyway. Not much character to the place, just plain walls, feels like a hospital waiting room. But it's good.

Poor kitchen facilities (old broken pans, not enough cups), WiFi works only sporadically and very slow. Bathrooms are strange (shower and toilet are each separated with a door from the room, but the sink is in the room), the room was otherwise ok (spacious, clean, beds with firm matresses). Common areas are spacious but therefore impersonal. One day they ran out of toilet paper in the morning and only got new one at around 7pm because I asked for it (you always have to ask for a new roll).

Very helpful staff, loved the big personal locker in your room (each room has 6 beds, each with its own locker), the bed was comfortable, the place was clean, they do laundry (though expensive), I felt totally safe etc. Downsides: the poor wifi connection, they run out of hot water in the evening, & one they ran out of all water in the shower late at night. A nice perk: the owner also owns one of the bus companies so you can pick up the first am bus to el calafate right from the hostel. Sweet!

Great hostel. The only downside is it is not very centrally located.

Staff was not extremly friendly and not helpfull, particularly in speaking English. It felt rather like a massive hostel to host travellers than to actually create a nice atmosphere for travellers to mingle and meet. The TV room, which could created somehow a nice atmosphere, was ruined by the staff playing music in the background. Nice initiative alright, but then it just created a cacophony.

Great location. Kitchen big, well equipped. The hostel was perfectly fine, if maybe overpriced and certainly lacking character.

Not a hostel with much character; feels more like a cross between a restaurant and a motel. But the rooms are fine and the staff great and it is a solid, reasonably priced hostel for El Chaltén. What we really appreciated was the staff and their flexibility with our booking. We booked beds for the return of our hiking trip without knowing the exact day we were expecting back and they took it all in stride, no problems. Fantastic service.

Good hostel, just a bit weird that you have to ask for toilet paper at the reception. Like all other hostels in El Chalten, very expensive!

The staff is really great and its always fun to chat with them! But due to it's size, the hostel lacks kind of character and charme, you don't really get in contact with your fellow travelleres, which is a pity. But it's to say, in El Chalten you get in contact with ther people anyway, since it's such a small village :) Cleanliness and Security are perfect!

The staff here was amazing! So friendly and helpful. The hostel was a little big, so it was hard to meet people because I was there during a slow week and all the people staying there were quite spread out but it was very clean. The kitchen could use some improving, it was not very well equipped. Very clean.
