I liked this place a lot. Very relaxed atmosphere. Not a party hostel like other hostels in that area, so it is more quit than other hostels in that area. Cleanliness was good but you can not help sand on the floors. Pippies Fraser Island tour was great and cheaper that other travel companies. Lockers in the room could be good addition,

Bit of a boring hostel, booked 2 nights after ten minutes of being in the hostel and the area decided only wanted one night there, but wouldn't let us have a cancel and only pay for one night, told us we had to pay and then they would give us a voucher to try and sell on the rest of our travels, average stop to go Fraser though

nice enough place, but nothing extraordinary. pretty chilled out vibe. dingos and frasers hostels both have a bar so are more social. but pretty sure u can walk round and get in the bars though whilst staying at pippis so guess you can have the best of both worlds..

Pippies is well located (right next to the bus stop and a few minutes from the beach) I really liked the free sand dune walk, wi fi is not free though it is advertised...you only get 30 minutes everyday breakfast is only from 7.30 to 8.30 which is way too short as youd rather be sleeping at that time... BI got my towel stolen as it was drying by the pool. kitchen is vercroweded (not enough forks for everyone) other than that, staff is helpful and hostel is clean.

Not spectacular but still a nice place. Prepare to get wet when there is a lot of rainfall (we had 30h in a row) there is no dry possibility to get to the other buildings and there are also a few leaks in the kitchen area.

Pros: Alcohol allowed, relatively clean, daily free walking trip although every hostel offers that in rainbow, free breakfast Cons: Nothing special

I liked Pippies a lot, and would recommend a stay there. One thing I would suggest is that those that want a quiet night ask for a room that is not next to the kitchen/veranda area as it can be noisy. The free wifi is only 30 minutes free, which I wish I had known in advance. But those small comments considered, I still thought that Pippies was a lovely place to stay and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again.

Loved my stay here, found Michelle to be very helpfull and nice. They could do with more bathrooms as there was usually a wait and have toilets separate from the showers would be better. But I'd definately recommend this hostel. The vibe there was just really good and makes you feel comfortable as soon as u arrive.

Hostel is nice! Doors are not always locked though. Pippies organizes awesome Fraser tours, so this is a great gateway to Fraser. Nice 5$ BBQ on Wednesdays and helpful staff. Rainbow beach itself is really boring. They do free sand dune walks and sand boarding daily, which is quite good.

Small kitchen, old furniture. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The pool is a bit dirty, free internet for only 30 minutes. Breakfast incluedes tea, coffee, toast, jam and butter.

Our room was boiling hot, the aircon didn't work and the shared bathrooms weren't very clean. Our room was right next to the kitchen so was noisy. The tv/dvd room was very clean and the best part of the hostel. Pool looked very dirty. Free breakfast and wifi are the best things about this hostel.

Best hostel I stayed in in Australia. loved that its not a chain (I don't think) and the staff genuinely cared and wanted to help you out. Rooms were very clean. Big TV to watch films which they also provide for free which is brilliant and quite comforting if you've been living in hostels for a while. You can also drink in the hostel which is a big money saver!

The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely! The pool is pretty and especially the 4-bed dorms are really nice, with hammocks on the terrace!
