Everything was fine (this is a hostel, not a hotel), with the exception of the bathroom, which flooded each time we showered, and the shower door did not close together properly.

Thank you for your comments. We're sorry about the bathroom. Its actually a disabled shower and meant for wheelchair access. Hence why the door doesn't completely shut. Sorry about this. Matt

The staff were friendly, and it was a really nice surprise to find an easter egg on our beds when returning to our room, a very thoughtful gesture at easter time. good location, close to shops and night life. We will use this hostel again.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay and the free Easter egg. We look forward to having you back. Matt

The hostel is a few minutes walk from the bus station and the lake. I was in a 4-bed dorm with ensuite and it was just right except if it rains because you need to walk outside in the rain to get to the kitchen and lounge area and to the tv and computer area. They offered to come and get me at the bus station when I emailed them. It was good for one night.

Very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Good location on edge of town - only 10 minutes walk to lake and all shops but away from noise. More tea-towels needed!

Very nice hostel, tucked slightly away from the lake and the town center. The community area is very cozy, with internet, people cooking their own food, sofas, and even a BBQ area outside.

Great host, not too far from the center and close to supermarkets. Nice rooms and a big kitchen with more than enough space for its guests to cook, unlike some other hostels. Showers switched between hot and cold every two minutes or so though.

I really appreciated all the help Ian gave me and others with getting our plans together and everything else he did for us. I also loved the atmosphere. I loved that it felt more like we were a family than any other hostel I've stayed in. Everyone there was super willing to talk about experiences and trade advice, this was possible because of the super central and well-used common space.

Great hostel with a lot of character and helpful staff. A little bit more of a walk from the lake but well worth it for the quality.

Very nice place to stay, rooms are a little bit small but cosy. Walls were very thin but it wasn't to noisy at night. facilities were mostly clean and the atmosphere was nice with some places to hang around. The staff is very helpful and friendly, offers also bike hiring. Internet prices are fair (4 $ per day.) Overall very nice hostel.

Hllo, I got from Rainbow Lodge the message, that there is no single room for me. They changed me in Bradshaw Lodge in Taupo. Thagt was fine and I paid $55 for the single room. But they could not charge the prepayment, so I payed USD 7.18 to much. I asked you in a message, to zu viel bezahlt. Ich bitte um Rückerstattung dieser Summe auf mein Kreditkartenkonyet.

Sorry for the mix up. But unfortunately in your original booking you booked a twin room and not a single. A twin is more expensive than a single, hence the price difference. I'm glad to hear that you loved our little sister hostel, Bradshaws.
