Adventure Taupo Hostel

Welcome to Adventure Taupo Hostel, part of the multi-award winning Adventure Hostels family.
We opened our doors in Late October 2025.

❓ Adventure Taupo is a vibrant, social hostel with a focus on guest interaction, functional, useful facilities and a team that pay attention to the details. We offer cosy, relaxed Ski-chalet vibes, where it's easy to meet fellow travellers without an emphasis on partying or trying too hard. We are a smaller hostel with a maximum capacity of about 70 people. The perfect number for keeping a family atmosphere which is still fun and vibrant. We are a welcoming, inclusive hostel and proudly LGBTQ+ friendly.

📍 AT is well located, with downtown Taupo just a 3 minute walk away. At night we guarantee you'll sleep soundly as there are no bars directly by us.

😴 Our spacious and well-designed rooms feature custom made hand-built timber bunks with ultra-comfortable innerspring mattresses,
⭐ Two pillows, freshly laundered linen and ready to hop straight into.
⭐ Each bunk also includes USB-C charging ports & electrical outlets, a reading light, a secure under-bed storage locker and privacy curtains.
⭐ Our rooms also include A/C, heat pump, free high-speed WIFI and towels are included as standard!

🌞 AT's Outdoor balcony spaces are the best in town, and a great place to enjoy a drink in the sun and soak up the views.

🥘 You'll be cooking up a feast in one of the country's best hostel kitchens, that features everything from sharp knives to air fryers.

⁉️ Our friendly staff can help you plan your activities, bungees and hot pool experiences, as well as offer tips and tricks for Taupo and beyond.

⭐ We even provide a simple laundry service, where our team will wash, dry and return your clothes when ready!

🚗 Our under-hostel parking area has ample space for up to 14 cars / campers and there's plenty of street-sider parking available right outside the hostel.

🚌 We are located less than a 7 minute walk from the Intercity bus stop, which is handy for Intercity travellers and Kiwi Experience guests will be dropped off right outside our entrance!

⚠️ Our Standard Policies

🔹We are a small hostel, our reception is open from 8.30am to 7.30pm.

🔹Late check-ins are not possible without prior notice. So, if you will arrive after 7.30pm, please email or call us 2-3 days before you arrive, and we will provide instructions on how to self-check-in.

🔹In peak season, we generally operate with a maximum 10-day stay policy in any 30 day period. Please enquire with us directly for long-stay availability.

🔹Cancellations must be made more than 48 hours prior to the day of arrival. Cancellations made within 48 hours from the date of arrival will incur additional charges equivalent to the first night's accommodation. No Shows will be charged the first nights accommodation.

🔹Check-in is available after 8.30am, however please note that beds/rooms will not be ready until after 2pm. We have storage facilities for the interim and common areas are free for use.

🔹We do not allow minors under the age of 17 in shared rooms, with or without guardians. Families are welcome, but would be required to book an entire room.

🔹Please note that we cannot always guarantee that guests from a group booking will be in the same room or any booking will be in the same room for the duration of the stay, though we will always try our best!
