I loved it, the atmosphere was great, the people I met were amazing, it is very central but still quiet and peaceful

Located very close to the Ghats (1 min walking). Very friendly staff and a great opportunity to meet awesome people from all over the world and talk during a delicious breakfast or lunch. Filtered drinking water available. The atmosphere is rather not like in a hotel, but like at home.

Home away from Home - A delightful experience! From check-in until the last moment at Rambhavan, I had a pleasant and memorable experience. Vrida Dar, Stephan, Shalini, Kamala and the rest of the crew made it sure to keep it that way. Thank you TEAM! When in Varanasi, Stay in Rambhavan. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Only difficulty was in finding the place by myself. Not a big concern, the map does help a lot. Its a bit overwhelming trying to meander through the streets to get there.. 2 thumbs up!!

Kautilya Society has to be one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The staff is very friendly, a simple breakfast and delicious lunch is included in the stay and the hostel is full of interesting people from around the world. What more can you ask for? There's also a water filtration system so you save 40 rupees/day that you would have otherwise spent on bottled water. The power is reliably backed up and there's good wifi and a wonderful rooftop view. Thanks for making me feel at home in Benares

Very unique place! You should stay here if you're going to Varanasi. Friendly people, really cool rooms with authentic architectural details. The bathroom(s) are a little strange, especially the one on the first floor. If you want a more private shower, go to the second floor! They have full-house battery backups so during power outages you still have lights and fans. The included homemade daily lunch is really good! You might not recognize the food but you will be surprised how good it is!

Excellent! Just let me write one important thing: they try to create a real community; e.g. there is a round (!) table where You can eat Your breakfast and lunch so You can talk with other guests (and the guests are very nice, as well as the staff).
