Lovely little hostel with very kind staff - the location is a bit out of town and the breakfast is very limited, but apart from these little flaws, very clean and very friendly

The hostel is located in great location, the chinatown area, that you can walk to the old town area and Jonker street easily. The room is spacious and very clean, staff is helpful and friendly, facilities are excellent

Staying with Mani and Raymond was such a great thing to do. The hostel is clean (far cleaner than any hotel, we have been before) and you will be greeted by a smile and a ice cold drink. There is a nice rooftop to hang round or dry your cloth. If you have any questions or problems, Mani and Raymond will not hesitate to help you, which was really helpful. Thanks for some wonderful days in Melaka!

Great stay in the air conditioned, double room with ensuite. Lovely external garden for relaxing and you can do hand washing and hang to dry. Owners are very friendly and helpful and there is baking every afternoon which is a lovely touch. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our stay.. Great price and would highly recommend the Roof Top Guest House.

A lovely little guest house just a short distance from the main Jonker street. Mani and Raymond offer a brilliant welcome taking a long time to take you through where to go and more importantly where (and what) to eat. All while being given an ice cold drink and homemade cake.

the staff is really helpful. the 16 bedrooms is quite small, dont have much space for urself. i like the curtains that gives u privacy. better bring ur flip flops for the bathroom/toilets if u dont like being bare feet.

Thank you Mani and Raymond for my second stay at the Roof Top Guest House. The chicken and mushrom pies you made for the guests where excelent. I found the renervastions you had done since I was last there in November 2011 where very good for your customers , especially the double sinks on the roof top garden for washing clothes. I hope when i come again you will have some of your lovely banana cake.

Mani and Raymond are the best hosts I've encountered in my travels so far. Raymond's tips and ideas, coupled with the map he gave was really helpful to get around and see the sites in as little time as possible. Oh, and Mani's banana cake was to die forrrr~

Probably the nicest hostel we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in quite a few!). Was welcomed with a cold drink and given the run down on the best places to eat and drink. Room was a good size and the bathroom was very clean and looked like it had a new shower. We were right next to the roof garden but didn't have any problems with noise as its not a party hostel at all. 2 minutes walk from Chinatown

I stayed in the double room at the top which was perfectly adequate in terms of comfort and location. Perfect for exploring old Malacca. Mani and her husband were really hospitable and made my stay memorable. Recommeded. Jiva Retnam

After a very refreshing welcome drink (lychee juice) we got a introduction on what to do and espacially what to eat in Melaka. That was very helpful!!! Fresh bananas and homemade cookies were also included. Nice roof top to relax. Also one big shower on the roof top. All in all very familial atmosphere! Like, like, like!!!! :)

I felt very at home with Mani and Raymond, there was lots of space to sit about in the house which was nice, and there was a friendly atmosphere between the guests so I met some nice people. The location is great and there's a cafe just across the road open for breakfast lunch and dinner. A lovely stay!

Super friendly staff! Maria explained the city of Melakka in detail to us, what to do, what to eat even tough it was night time! Thank you so much, we had a great time!

bathroom with toilet is too small and old. I did not feel comfortable at all. They definitely need to renovate and improve it. Room does not have any window and no view. Room was quiet expensive considering it is just guesthouse, but breakfast was not provided and Wifi is very slow. Overall, it was below my expactation in many ways compared to other hostels/guesthouses I visited during my travel in Malaysia and Singapore for 2 weeks.

The owners are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The hostel itself is spacious, comfortable, clean, well furnished, and well located. The atmosphere is, of course, dependent on who else is staying at the time, but the two rooftop patios provide a beautiful forum for any festivities that might unfold...

We had a nice time in Melaka staying at Roof Top Guest House. Rooms are clean and beds are huge. Unfortunately there were plenty of mosquitos in the house, so better bring your mosquito net. There are allways cake and fruits on the table and you can help yourself at anytime, that was really tasty.
