The first thing that happened was that my towel, that was on my bed, got stolen.

Whilst I appreciate the Christian ethos of this hostel, I think the staff may also want to focus on the customer service aspect of running a hostel. On check in I was told that I was not allowed to use drugs, that there were prayer meetings at certain times, and if I hadn't guessed already - they were a christian hostel. I was not however told where the shower rooms were, how breakfast worked, or what time it was at - these I had to figure out on my own, or that you had to pay to use a towel!

I really hate giving bad reviews because my expectations are low but I was thoroughly unimpressed with this hostel. The rooms are ridiculously tiny and the beds are so close I could have held hands with the girl in the bottom bunk next to me. Seemed more like an army barracks or bomb shelter than a hostel. Every time I went to the bathroom it was a mess. I think there were maybe 2 outlets in a room for 16 and a few more in the common area. Staff are certainly nice though.

Good location (misleading instruction though), good breakfast, facilities are poor considering its price. Yet still a good choice in this period in Amsterdam.

The stay was very good and the hostel is great, I would stay there again. Excellent location, very clean place and a great breakfast. The only bad things were: climbing the stairs (millions of them) with a very heavy backpack , and the system to enter the hostel that I think it is a bit bad; is a small sheet of paper (easy to miss) that you have to show every time you enter the hostel, I think it would be more practical and safe if they were key cards, but that was it.

The only thing about the security is: The lockers they use are not really safe. I reckon you could open them with a small screwdriver. Anyways I haven't heard of anything being stolen.

The staff are so nice & lovely & great location. I like the 'know-each other' night session to bring the travellers together, sharing culture, under free dinner & quizz games. Thank you so much for the hospitality & appreciate it so much for preparing my breakfast so early than usual time as I had to leave Amsterdam super early. Thanks so much. K

Quite clean and comfortable, though some of the rooms are slightly cramped. Staff are polite and willing to help, though the front desk can become clogged when there is, for example, someone checking in and someone who needs to be buzzed into the building. The policy to be let into the building is a bit inefficient. Lacking a free-for-all kitchen, but does have a refrigerator for guests.

They had a nice breakfast included every morning, free maps, and a nice outdoor area to hang out. They always seemed to be cleaning or taking care of guests. I stayed an extra day and would love to come back if I visit Amsterdam again!
