Great location and genuinely positive staff. A place with a good heart in centre of Amsterdam.

I just loved this place. The staff was amazing, multicultural, helpful and knowledgable about the area including public transportation. I loved it and will be staying there again!!

I liked the place and the biggest advantage is its location. Staff was too courteous and even refunded my money for the rented bike I booked but didnt use. The kitchen and breakfast were also good with different options. Overall I like this place

The staff was amazing, and the experience was great. We got a free tour of the city, free Dutch food tasting the night that we arrived, and the food was SO affordable. Just feet away from the red light district. It was well worth the money, and I will be recommending it to others.

We had a kid in our room trip out and verbally abused my roommate. Other than that everything and the breakfast was good.

I really enjoy the time I passed at the Shelter City Hostel. People were great, the property too and is located at the center of Amsterdam. I'm not very religious but even the bible discussion we're nice, I just regret not been there before(I went a feel hours before my departure). Thank you Shelter City ;)

I liked my stay very much. I stayed in the 4 female dormiatory with own shower. It was very clean, but bil cold. But I got extra blankets when asking for it. In the morning the heater where working better again. The breakfast was very nice, with freshly made pancakes. Very sweet and helpfull staff. I would stay again, and recomend to people.

perfect location, right in the heart of Red Light District, with a relatively safe security. But the Wifi there is a bit sucks, cannot connect to WIFI most of the time, and a low speed even connected.

The hostel was very nice and friendly. The staff was extremely easy to work with and was abundantly kind. The best part was the Free Breakfast. The worst part, the showers, very little privacy and didn't appear too clean. All in all, great place to stay, but bring your own towel and shower sandals.

Despite the good security facilities (lockers) and it being a christian hostel, somehow I still managed to get robbed while i was taking a shower.

Poor breakfast, 1 energy plug for a 12 people room, and extreme and unconfortable religion imposition.

Location is best if you like walk all day around as me. Really close to the central station. Breakfast is really nice and you can sit in the cafe so enjoy. The bed in the dorm is not that big. But for single is enough. Btw. Can leave your electronic device in the front desk for battery charging. So convenience!

Nice and safe hostel. I was traveling alone, and didn't go to Amsterdam to party. So Shelter City was a nice choice for a quiet(ish) and safe 2 nights. I also took advantage of the free tour on Saturday morning - which was awesome! My only complaint is that the room was unbearably hot/dry at night.

Very pleasant stay, within walking distance to most places in the central area, extremely friendly staff! Only a pity that the breakfast was really poor, 3 pieces of bread and a piece each of ham and cheese is not a ham and cheese sandwich. But overall hugely impressed~
