Our Christian hostel offers great value for money, with bed, breakfast, sheets, hot showers and a locker for the best prices in Amsterdam. We've got clean and comfortable accommodation and friendly international atmosphere. Providing so much for so little, Shelter City is definitely the best deal you can get in Amsterdam.
We're located in the city centre, a short walk from Central Station. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.
Shelter City has four-, six-, eight-, 12- and 16-bed single-sex dorms. The larger dorms are divided into smaller sections to provide the privacy you'd like. The four-bed rooms are available with en-suite facilities (private shower, toilet and sink) or with shared bathroom facilities. Our budget price includes breakfast, sheets, hot showers, a locker and all taxes. These are the best-value beds in town.
You will get so much more than just a good night's sleep at an affordable price. The hostel not only provides excellent facilities, but also has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All of our international staff speak English and will be pleased to help you. The hostel has a courtyard and a great cafe where you can get something to eat or drink, relax and meet people from all over the world, or use the Internet.

Great location (5 minute walk to Dam), safe, reasonably priced, breakfast included (quite good and filling too). Most of the staff was friendly, as were the people there. There's a fridge you can use (a little small and you leave stuff there at your own risk, but we had no problems, and it's a nice thing to have). Lots of toilets and showers, but the showers are the beach kind, with a suspended shower head, so not that great. Also, no wall sockets in the rooms, just outside or at the reception.

This property has a 2 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
Check-in: 1330. This hostel is smoke-free, drug-free and alcohol-free. We have a 48hr cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no-shows shall be charged the equivalent of the first night�s accommodation. These conditions also apply if the date of arrival has been changed by phone or email. There is an extra charge of 5 Euro if you make a group booking for just one night and it�s a Friday, Saturday, or 17, 18, 19, 25, 26, 27 May or 28, 29, 30, 31 December 2012. You can smoke cigarettes in the courtyard. There�s no curfew. Animals are not permitted. If you have booked more than one bed we can�t guarantee you�ll be put in the same room. Our dorms are segregated by gender; if you book the wrong room we can�t guarantee your accommodation. There are free lockers. Please bring your own padlock or buy one at reception. If the lock is built into the locker you can borrow the key for a 10 Euro deposit. There is a 10 Euro key deposit for the four-to-eight-person rooms. We only accept bookings of up to 20 people on Hostelworld.
