Smugglers Cove Beach Resort Reviews

It seems like everyone we met had stayed at 'Smuggies' and therefore it seems highly overrated. The food is more expensive than other places and accommodation MUCH more expensive. There are lodges around the same street (eg Bluewater) that are much cheaper and just as nice (although smaller). You will meet people and find a comfortable enough night's sleep, but at a cost.

If you are here to see Fiji then do yourself a favor and avoid this place and head to one of the islands. The place had a nice pool, nasty beach front. The water and sand were just nasty. The rooms are nice, but there is only the hostel bar to drink as well as the hostel next door has one also. The service was bad, and I didn't get the friendly fijian feeling that I got from everyone else in fiji. It was relatively close to the airport but it co sts $15 for a ride to there on your way out.

I was only there for one night, but it was a great atmosphere. Easy to meet people, especially if you're traveling by yourself.

They somehow didn't have my reservation and said all their rooms were fully booked. [They sure received the deposit for it though.] We ended up in a dormitory for the same price as the double private bedroom we had booked with views, which we to pay for [4 beds] to ensure privacy. Do I really need to chase up every hostel to make sure they have actually received my booking? Little character or cosyness. Full of local louts trying it on with the tourist girls. My meal was overcooked and dry.

The breakfast is terrible and the girls dorm bathrooms are a little moldy. Each bed should have a small light so the large overhead light does not disturb guests who are sleeping while others may be reading. They do not give new towels for the dorm guests who stay long term. It would be nice if Smugglers had tea and coffee available all day in the cafe.

New and clean hostel with international standards. Well looked after, you feel safe and get entertainment at night or can sit on the beach. The water is murky but very warm. Transport to Airport and Nadi is easy and cheap. The food is nice and has a big variety to offer.

Return trip for me, great people great place and perfect to get to the airport or to the islands!

Hostel facilities were really good, room was nice as was the cafe and restaurant. Nice to have a pool - although it was dirty! However, the staff/customer service were terrible. Front desk was so slow with any request, not very helpful and to top it off we were awaken from our beds at midnight to pay an outstanding bar bill (which we had asked to settle before we went to bed). Absolutely ridiculous.

This hostel was recomended to us by a friend, and we has already recomended it to other friends, staff, food, lady at the travel desk brilliant.

staff were amazing , is in the middle of nowere taxi is needed to travel into nadi , but its a great spot for island hopping

great little hostel on the main land, good free breakfast and nice seating area. the dorm room is nice and clean even though it has 30 plus beds in it. The beds are seperated off into sections of 4 so it doesnt feel like you are sharing a room with 34 people.

Good food, clean beds, bathrooms sometimes could do with an extra clean per day, really friendly staff and good service, cheap if you book online. The food and especially the beer is a little over priced because of the popularity of the hostel no doubt. Would reccommend to everyone heading to the Nandi area!

Smuggler's Cover was an awesome hostel! It was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was really good (the pizza is awesome) even if it was a few more dollars than other places. The location was great as it is situated on a street with quite a few other hostels so it was easy to eat at other places and visit friends. The rooms and general areas were really clean, the staff were constantly sweeping. Overall, it was fantastic!

the food and drink is overpriced as you can go next door and tget the same meal for half price and cans of fanta for $4 when you can get them for $1 across the road the dorm room is a big room but with no room inside it as they have tried to jam too many beds into there

Smugglers Cove Beach Resort of Nadi Bay, Fiji has excellent staff members that has assist I during my tought time after I being attacked by a robbery inccident happened in November 2011. Thank you to all the help I received through my rough patch during my trip in Fiji. Professional, friendly and helpful service that make my visit to Fiji worthwhile! But accounting systems should be fully utilising of modern computer technology and reduce on paper work to create a more up-to-date work system

The staff were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome and at home.

Great Hostel! Very clean and safe, the rooms with facilities are good. Directly at the beach, but difficult to find when you arrive at Nadi Airport, so take advantage of the complimentary pickup service FROM the airport (there's no complimentary drop off available). Breakfast is good and included. Staff is very friendly and will help you in planning your stay on Fiji. I can recommend this hostel to everyone. The bar is good and there is a lot of fun!

the dorm doors were a little loud when opening and closing at all hours of the night.....and did see a cockroach on the floor

All staff are great, super friendly and helpful. Great bar and pool area that is well looked after by staff. Quality free continental brekkie in the morning. nom nom. dorm room is super cheap, pretty comapact but all you need and clean. also staff are great!

The night time entertainment was fantastic, especially the dancers on the Wednesday night. The food is great, although the menu is over-priced and the service can be quite slow. Great staff though, all very friendly. Over all, I really enjoyed my stay.
