Quite clean. Very good location, although can feel unsafe after dark. Friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Sink in private rooms are a helpful touch.

Wifi was spotty most of the time.

Thanks for taking the time to review our hostel. The wifi has been completed upgraded and there have been no issues since the new installation.

Great place to stay! Always friendly and helpful staff to help you out!

Had a room where there was a lot of noise from dumpster diving outside. It was only one dumpster, but one person would leave and 30 minutes later we another person would be using it to dumpster dive. Not much of a kitchen facility. But the hostel suited me needs to run a race in Granville Island. Was able to check out at 11:00 a.m. instead to 10:00 so that allowed me enough time to come back after the race and shower, that was a huge help.

The location of the hostel is good, we booked a double room the made us upgrade to a triple one, the room was great were comfortable, good sleep. The services are good, but there is no kitchen, there is just a microwave and a kettle Which is not enough for cooking. The staff was friendly but when you stay for a long term and of you have a problem the should skip the rules in order to fix your problem. ( I meant don't be so strict about cancellation policies)

squeaking beds, drunk guest making lots of noise in the middle of the night...I wouldn't recommend the hostel to anyone who wishes for a quiet and comfortable bed.

The location is very good and can be reached easily from Granville station. But...noisy noisy noisy. Club round the corner that can be heard until 3am. Maybe can request to stay on a higher floor. Felt was a party hostel as many returning late and making noise in the corridors. Only two showers per floor. Staff only start work at 9am and finish at 9pm. No kitchen but place to do laundry. The bed was comfortable and staff were helpful and apologetic about the noise.

The Location is excellent in downtown Vancouver, everything is close. The cleanlineness is not so good but its okay for the cheap price thou. The staff is very helpful. The Atmosphere is nice if you like ships:D Lots of great pictures of cruise ships.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. The location is perfect: right in the middle of Downtown. The staff is friendly, the rooms are not big, but spacious enough, and clean, as is the washroom. There is not a real kitchen, but there are plenty of restaurants around the corner where you can get an affordable and delicious meal. I would recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to stay in Downtown Vancouver!

The location is awesome. Not a lot of a vibe but for what i was staying in vancouver for it was perfect.

Hi Thanks for your comments and being our guest. Hope you enjoyed your stay at The St. Clair and in beautiful Vancouver. Best, Lorraine

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St Clair Hostel but our only issue was that there were not enough fans and so we couldn't borrow it for the night. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly, helpful and we had a great trip.

Hi: Thanks for your comments, we've added more fans - unfortunately most of Vancouver wasn't ready for our 'heat wave' much warmer than usual here. Best, Lorraine

The room was unbearably hot at night. Even with the window open we got not breeze. I would highly consider buying fans for the rooms to make your guests comfortable. Besides that, it was a good value for our money in a good location downtown.
