They had lost my booking and very reluctantly sorted out a bed for me. The first night I was there I had stuff stolen from my bag. Management didn't care when I told them. The next night the police were there arresting a couple who were fighting upstairs. Not the highlight of my trip.

If you look for a place in the heart of Vancouver Downtown, Walking Distance to Skytrain and Bus, Hot and clean showers, working Heater in the Room and also a sink, thats your place. There was even a Watermaker and microwave to heat up small things and Internet, but you are in the middel of the town, there is chaep and good food anywhere and the public libary with free internet is just around the corner. For me definitley value for money.

This hostel/hotel was fine for the money and location. Was really nice to be able to walk to everything without having to be in the middle of the craziness of Granville .If you are looking for a cheap place to stay with no extra gimmicks than it's fine. If you want a more social atmosphere, might want to consider a different place to stay. There isn't really much of a common are and people are in and out all day. Still the room was fine and no complaints otherwise.

Staff was GREAT, Location was in the middle of everything... few minutes from shopping, bars, clubs, restaurants. Wish the washrooms were a little more private.

It's a place to get some sleep and take a good shower, for seasoned travellers who do not need any special fancy features. I liked the no-BS atmosphere, but people who are willing to meet people and have fun in a hostel will not find it here. Restrooms were clean, the shower was delicious, the blankets were cozy. In general it's good, but I wish it had a kitchen, eating out every day was hard on the pocket. There are no lockers, so bring a suitcase or backpack that can be secured by a lockpad.

A very nautical theme to this hostel. Very pleased with our stay here though as it is pretty close to all the bars in gastown. Would definately stop here again as it is excellentt value for money.

Very nice hostel, could have done with some soap in the rooms as the hand sanitisers were empty. Very good price.

Average, really. The location is pretty good, close to downtown and transport. It's very safe and the staff are kinda nice. And that's about it. The rooms are very basic and a bit oldish. They aren't particularly clean as aren't the washrooms - but it's not exactly bad either. Like I said, pretty average and I'm not really sure that there are many better options in Vancouver, so you might as well try St. Clair.

Great place to stay, great location. It's not a party place, which is good, it's generally quiet and the staff are very helpful in making your stay as good a possible. Would stay here again for sure

The only sinks are in the rooms, so you can't wash your hands right after going to the loo or wash your dishes, which is kind of confusing. But other than that and than the fact that there is no real kitchen to cook (only fridges and microwaves), that's a good place to stay for a night.
