The stayokay is good if you want a calm and cheap place to stay in Amsterdam. Personally, I am not a big partier, so I was ok with the fact that it's not a big party hostel, however I would have liked the common area to be more lively. I was traveling alone, so normally I meet people in the common rooms at hostels and join them for the day, but I found that very difficult at the stayokay. There was no music in the common room and it was very quiet. No internet in the rooms, which was annoying.

The common bathrooms were very dirty and the staff does not have patience with tourist that do not understand them. They sale towels at a high price but they are not of good quality.

High standard hostel, really nice stay, but it also shows on the price. Worth for a shorter stay in Amsterdam.

Pretty average Hostel, quite big and hence fairly impersonal. Location is good, close to the tram line and a 20 minute walk into town. The shower in our room was very awkward to use. Overall good value for money but I wouldn't stay here again if there were other alternatives.

Pretty good breakfast, but required long line up - likely due to large number during Christmas/New Year. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good location. Bike rentals were quite good and convenient. Good stay overall, would go back again.

Could be a very nice hostel but it turned out to be noisy with late night party goers. My first room was disgusting though the re-allocated room was better

+ It's really great that you put together people that are alone. I met interresting people in my room, girls like me that was traveling by herself. - 6 people that have iphone, computer, camera, etc. to recharge every day and 1 power outlet in the whole room... that's clearly not enough power outlet.
