The Hostel is so authentic, it really was like going back in time. The hostess was wonderful, she made our stay very pleasant, greeting us with drinks and snacks in the room, she even gave us fresh strawberries one evening on our return from a very long day walking.

Everything is fine, Japanese style room with tatami and futon. There is only 1 shower room. It could be problem if everyone wants to go shower at the same time. The base of the shower room is ice cold. The weather is already cold enough.

It was a great cosy traditional japanese guest house. totally what we wanted in Kyoto. The care taker was lovely, very helpful and approachable.
