Really nice hostel with nice common area and bar where you can buy alcohol and a easy meal up to 10 pm. Nice small and quite TV room. Only minus is that the dorms are a bit small and it was pretty cold around the common area.

TUR is really good for young adults, but not really for family with kids.

Easily the best hostel we stayed at in New Zealand. Good location and facilities. Very clean and new. However the staff stand out above all else. Absolutely brilliant staff who go so above and beyond the call of duty to help you! Tom and Claire were so so helpful and friendly helping us book up loads of activities and to top it off for the majority of the activities you get picked up right outside the hostel. So glad we stayed here and thanks for an awesome time!

We enjoyed our stay here, ideally located and easy to get to places. The prices were very good and so were the facilties, mainly the bar - which is great to talk to and meet people. The staff are amazing and very friendly, very helpful for anything we needed. Good prices in the bar, very cheap. Very clean and nice hostel, relaxing and general enjoyable stay. Is the best hostel we have stayed at whilst in New Zealand and all backpackers should give it a try.

Thank you very much guys! Specially you, Tom! You made my day(s) and helped to make my life easier by booking me to buses and stuff. It was great to stay with you. Br., The Finnish guy

Spacious dorms with storage under the bunk beds. Funky bar and reasonbly equipped kitchen. An hour's free internet is included for every night you stay, which is helpful. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Good location and really friendly helpful staff, rooms weren't anything to great would be very hot in the summer no air flow or real windows. But nice and close to the city center and good car parking.

Besides the fact that they have very affordable prices, their staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are ok, mostly dorm rooms but I love the fact that all the bunks have a box attached to secure our bags and valuable items. The atmosphere is great. The only downside is that their bar closes at 10 PM,

Got a room which had no windows in the dorm room and also no window but a very noisy fan in the ensuite bathroom. This fan would only run when the light was on, but not longer. The floor in the bathroom had no separate areas for shower and the rest so using the toilet after someone took a shower you were guaranteed to get wet feet. Overall I was not impressed. Reception staff was friendly although I don't get why there is no 24h reception like in other hostels.

Very nice hostel. Free internet is nice, but it would be better with wi-fi, of course. The fact that they close the reception area at 10 pm might be annoying as well. Staff very helpful and patient. Very well located. Very clean.

The 16 bed dorm was definitely a great place to sleep! I was apprehensive at first but it is a 2 story room with heaps of space between bunks. The staff were extremely friendly and the only problem with the hostel was that the 3 computers that they had for internet were always in use (They should get wifi)

Was only here for one night but enjoyed my stay. The communal areas are very good. Dorm room had good ventilation so it didn\'t get stuffy like some do. Kitchen was a bit small but the free internet was a nice bonus.

Thanks to all the staff at the base in taupo when my booking got messed up and they happily obligued me with a great dorm great bar it is unfortuate that it is too near the dorms and that the music does not finish until 3am perhaps it would be fairer to stop the music at 1am apart from that I would happily reccomend this hostel
