nice rooms, clean and nice location. Unfortunately a room without balcony, however we thought we should have one. The breakfast in the mountainhouse was good.

This was the best hostel we stayed at in Nepal. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. The owner unexpectedly greeted us at the coach station and organised a taxi for us. When we got to the problem his wife welcomed us at the door and showed us to our room, which was immaculate with great facilities. They offered us tea and we had a chat about our time in Nepal and plans for pokhara, which they offered help with organising. A great place ran by lovely people. Stay here!!

How to fault this place. Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful(with no pressure) and perfectly positioned. If the only fault i can find is that a lightbulb went then you know you are on to a winner. Absolutely superb. Will definately return!

This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Pokhara. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom clean with hot water and the staff including the owner Stan were extremely helpful with everything including prior organisation of a guide for our trek in the Annapurna range and we had our clothes washed on our return. If I am back in Pokhara I will definately stay there again! Thanks! Tom

Very pleasant stay in Pokhara, we stayed for 3 nights and the owner Stan was very very helpful arranging a short 2 day trek (go for Dhampus village and Muku guide!!!) and arranged us bus tickets and everything we needed. The place is clean, quiet and location 3 minutes from main road in Lakesde with lots of restaurants and shops. If you want a more calmer and non very touristic place go for Damside instead. Slow wireless at rooms away from 1st and 2nd floor, big rooms but not with character.

The Mountain House is a fantastic place to stay. The staff, particularly the owner, was extremely helpful and full of information. He helped us organise a trip into the Annapurna region, stored our stuff (free of charge), and helped us organise transport back to Kathmandu. The rooms where large, spacious, and spotless. The location is a short 2min walk from the main street in Lakeside on a side road. Be aware there are no street addresses in Nepal so take a map with the hotel location marked.

We stayed at The Mountain House for 7 nights, split before and after our trek into the Annapurna region, and we couldn't have wished for a better base to explore Pokhara. The two rooms we had were spacious, clean, well-appointed and very comfortable, and Stan and his lovely staff made every aspect of our stay a delight. Will most definitely return next time we're in Nepal!

We stayed at The Mountain House after traveling throughout Nepal for a few weeks. Our stay was fantastic! This by far was the cleanest, nicest guesthouse we stayed at in all of Nepal! The owner was so helpful and nice - great English too! The rooms were so clean and the water pressure was amazing to say the least! Great value! I can not say enough great things about this guesthouse! Excellent across the board!

Best hotel in Nepal by far, owners are really awesome people which you can fully trust on every question you have!

Good for staying, not for trekking. We didn't have a good experience with the porter/guide we booked through here and met others with the same problems. Porters and guides are better (and cheaper) elsewhere. That said, the rooms themselves and the placement of the hostel were above average (specially for Nepali standards) Our advise: stay at the mountain house, but book your porter and/or guide elsewhere!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mountain House and loved meeting the incredibly kind family that runs it! From welcoming us the first night, giving great recommendations in town, booking paragliding and our return bus to Kathmandu, and even following up with another call to the bus company to secure us a better seat on the bus, this family went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay in Pokhara.

Perfect location to explore Pokhara and his surroundings, everything close by! The rooms we had (3rd & 4th floor, deluxe double room) are spacious and clean, nice bathroom and huge beds. Minus: no table, no wardrobes, no attached balconies (although described), many next door generators, terrible noisy water pump. Staff is friendly and try to support as much as they can - although you're able to arrange everything yourself on the main street of Pokhara Lakeside.

We had a wonderful time at the Mountain House! There's a reason this place is so highly rated- Stan and his wife were kind and helpful. We arranged trekking, paragliding, and taxis through the guesthouse. Breakfast was not included but worth paying for. So good!!! We loved eating every morning in the front garden. The house is located down a quiet street off the main road. We stayed in different rooms before and after trekking. Both very nice and so clean! We will definitely return here again.

After travelling India and Nepal with a mate, it was apparent that many locals that spoke to us had a hidden incentive. However the amazing Mountain House couple had no hidden incentive. Their incentive is extremely clear, this is to make you feel 100% happy and to ensure you maximise your time spent in Pokhara. This was hands down the nicest environment we stayed in during our month away. Stan the owner was fantastic and very knowledgeable, we booked everything with him; rafting, Chitwan, treks

We had a fantastic experience at The Mountain House. The owner was extremely helpful when showing us what sights to see, how to get there and the best value options. His wife was lovely and they both made us feel very welcome. We booked our trip to Chitwan through them for what we felt was a fair price. The room was clean, bright and spacious and there was a nice hot shower. We would highly recommend The Mountain House.

We stayed in The Mountain House for a couple of nights. We hadnt planned anything by the time we arrived but as soon as we met the manager he organized everything for us. They booked a 3 day trekking for us as well as the bus tickets back to Ktm. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable...and the atmosphere is brilliant!! We genuinely recommend this hotel, you will feel as if you were at home!

We had a very good stay at this guesthouse. The staff was very friendly and really takes time to know their guests and to make them comfortable. Also, we were provided with honest and good information about trekkings around the area. A large choice in breakfast was available.
