It was nice and warm at night (I went in November) and the showers were really hot too. Only thing that let it down were the loos, they were so small you bashed your knees! Free lockers, free wifi, within walking distance of almost everything in town. It's in a noisy part of town (tons of coffeeshops) but in the rooms it's quite quiet. I had never stayed in a hostel before, so I had heard all kinds of horror stories about them being really dirty and unsafe and charging you extra for everything. I wasx so impressed - I felt safe and the staff was really nice, I had a great time, really hope I get to come back someday. Excellent location that is very close to everything you come to Amsterdam for. The only problem was the noise. I expected there to be noise form the street so that wasnt an issue, the problem was that it is only a few feet away from the Old Church and its bells. Great location, a bit noisy if you face the street. Good number of showers & toilets. You have to pay a deposit for each keycard you get for the dorm. This is a very good hostel in the centre of the red light disctrict. The Irish Pub downstairs is good and it is secure and reasonably clean. The only downside is no free breakfast (25% discount on full Irish breakfast at the pub thoguh) and a little noisy due to the location.
