The room was ok, but that's about it. The hostel doesn't have a very welcoming ambient, and is not very clean outside the bedrooms. Doors on bathrooms wouldn't lock. There is no lobby, the only area to meet people are some old sofas squeezed on each floor. Staff didn't seem to like very much being asked information. The only place to leave your lugagge after check out or before check in is a couch where they put bags with dirty towels, not safe at all. And even with all that, it's not cheap!

DO NOT STAY HERE! First of all, we had to walk through the public toliets to get to the room. The room was dirty, litter on the floor, the room was warn out, no blinds by the window ( woke up early everyday) toliet was broken ( used the public toliets) there was a stain on my bed sheets. My bed was broken, and the staff couldn't give a flying poop about it. Save your money, go elseware

Very clean and secure bedrooms. Not so clean / comfortable bathrooms. Kind of expensive in the weekends, but the location is excellent. In general, a good hostel.

Bathroom was dirty , water every where. Everything is so squashy & small. Its hard to take use comfortably. Should be more cheaper for that service.

Really nice people working there always willing to help you. Sadly in the add they say "free wifi" but that wifi often doesn't work for all the hostel and pub. This wifi also doesn't work inside the rooms, only in the corridor if you are on 1st and 2nd floor otherwise this isn't working.

There was a group of 7 irish lads going out for a long weekend. We went over for a A state of trance 600 in Den Bosch. The hostel was location was perfect. 5-10mins from central station. Beside countless coffee shops, bars, resturants/takeaways and had 2 supermarkets a few metres away. Although we stayed in a 10man room and there was only 7 of us we had 3 'strangers'. These guys were so nice and never once did we think our pocessions where at risk. The staff were lovely! I RECOMMEND IT.

you pay for the location, that's all. Uncomfortable beds in smelly rooms with not that good showers...however a nice bar is downstairs and the location could not be better.

To start.. you will not find a good hostel in the red light district, amsterdam is known for the poor quality of its hostels. the bathrooms seemed to always be grungy, and there was rarely soap in the dispensers. the beds were clean however, and the rooms cleaned each morning. the window in our room didnt close, there were no railings or ladders on the bunk beds. the stairs are very narrow and sketchy. but the location was superb, we were able to walk everywhere.

Very dirty blet anybidy in the hostel withou asking questions. Zero control over anybody staying in the hostel despite them smoking up and drinking and being loud in every room. Washrooms were appaling and only a few of the showers actually worked

There was building work (hammering, power tools) every day from 8am..right outside our room. Of four beds, two were broken, and the other two were held together with cable ties. There were no curtains even though our room faced out onto the street. Only about half of the bathroom facilities worked at all. Security was a joke, you could just walk in and out unchallenged. I think other hostels on the same street are better. It is a good location though.

We stayed in the White Tulip for two days. The room was quite clean, however the toilet on our floor was out of order and we were unable to shower in it but had to go to the second floor. Also, it was next door to our room so the smell from the toilet often got in. Also, the toilet is in one of the loudest streets in Amsterdam, so it was difficult to fall asleep at times. If the most important thing to you is to party like crazy during your stay, this hostel is perfect for you!

I'll never come back there...the guy at the reception was not nice, it's a minimum to welcome people when they arrive. And the worth was the bathroom, full of vomite in the morning......
