I stayed at last 10 hostel before this and be here for 7 nights. The problem in toulip is two: the toilet (shower) and the stairs. Shower - only in the first floor has some place to you leave the towel, clean and dirty clothes. Is terrible take a shower here. Stairs - There are 3 floors without lift and I got a terrible pain on the knee (6 nights in this hostel). But, the street is safe, just few steps from red light districtus and coffee shops. Very close from central station.

I liked how everything I needed was provided for me or available. Information was easy and everyone I worked with at the desk was informative, really nice and helpful. The restrooms were often a little stinky and wet, totally understandable with the limited space and the shared bathrooms. So, it was understandable. I took advantage of the discount in the bar downstairs so thank you for the wristband. Totally worth the cost and I had an amazing time. Also thanks for letting me print things!

Fantastic location. Right in the center, next to red light district, coffee shops, smart shops, pubs, restaurants. I mean the location can't get any better than this. The showers were rather small and a pain to use, but clean. Doors to the dorms have electronic locks and there is always a staff member working at the entry. Price + Location + Security are awesome and what more would you want from a hostel?

The facilities were okay, but what really made our stay terrible enough to switch hostels half way through our stay was a very aggressive, confrontational employee...he quite literally asked me "what is your problem today?" as I was paying for my key deposit and I had literally done nothing at all. Upon going upstairs to our room, at LEAST 5 other groups of friends from varying age/nationality/gender were also PISSED at how this man had put them down & attacked them personally. Do not recommend.

The hostel is located in the BEST part of Amsterdam! Super easy to get around just by walking from this area. The rooms were generally clean and comfortable, it was a basic hostel and definitely worth the money spent. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Amsterdam and would stay there again if I return. The staff was ok, but the guy Johannes was really weird and felt kind of uncomfortable and he was kind of annoying. Still a great place to stay.

The Hostel is ok. Don't expect luxury, but the sheets were clean for me, and the toilets and shower were clean too. Obviously expect 250 people to use 10 showers and few toilets and you could imagine the results. The location is amazing, cheap and if you are lucky you can meet someone interesting too.

Perfect location, lovely staff. It isn't the most social place, but definitely good value for what it is (and I still managed to meet people there regardless!)

There was a bad smell in the room and hall, and the bathrooms were not very clean

Very basic hostel with a great location! Staff were helpful and we had a good laugh with them. The hostel room was pretty basic but clean and it did the job. amazing location, we couldn't believe how close we were to the red light district. Would definately recommend to easy going laid back people that don't mind a bit of noise and a basic room.

This hostel was just alright, nothing too special. It was decently clean....the bathroom kind of smelled bad and got a little gross at times, but what do you expect for Amsterdam? It is right in the Red Light District and near Centraal Station, making it a great location. It was just slightly smelly. They should probably reduce the price just a little bit.

This was a last minute booking and I was expecting the worst, but it was overall quite OK. Rooms were clean and bathrooms had been recently done up. Main drawbacks are the noise from the street and the church bells, lack of a social atmosphere. The girl on reception was lovely, the pub downstairs was a good place to chill out.

Compared to other hostels in amsterdam this was very good value. The location was good, being central to everything so you could walk whereever you want. There was no real common area to speak of, just the dorms and bathrooms, although it was above an Irish pub that had good food and drinks and you get 20% off. Staff were also friendly and helpful. Wifi worked everywhere in the hostel inc the bar. Rooms were generally clean but depends on the people and it can get very noisey and weedy :)

Although living in Amsterdam is very expensive that we cannot blame for that, the hostel is still too poor, especially when compared with its prices.

It was in the middle of town, great location, though it's more like place to sleep when completely drunk, than nice place to rest and enjoy.

Nice location right in the middle of Dam. No hook in showers : that should be easier to hang out clothes

Depending on what you want out of your trip....first few nights I stayed in a room w a couple of rowdy people but this actually was not bad compared to what I experienced in the room i moved into for my last night. Long story short a huge man started urinating on the floor for a few minutes at about 8am in the morning and then fell into the bed i was sleeping in. One of the worst experiences of my life. The toilets were filthy and the showers were small and had no hooks, but lvl1 was clean.

The hostel is very well located. If u only want a bed to sleep while u have fun in amsterdã, that is a nice place. But it is very dirty. And sometimes it takes extremes porportion: when i arrived they havent changed my lines. I need to complaun. Also, sometimes things disapear (as my bag and my own towel). And the staff aren´t really polited. And sometimes they disapeear and u cant enter in the hostel during the night until somebody apear. But in a final avaliation, it worths the amount paid.

The Irish pub downstairs is a definite bonus and not sure whether my overall experience would have been as positive without it. Personally, I paid a tenner a night to stay in the hostel and you get what you pay for, facilities are basic but all you need. Converter plugs and towels can be borrowed with just a deposit. The location is fab. It's a hostel so you kind of have to expect there won't be much sleep had which is fine; you meet the most interesting of people in Amsterdam at 5am.....
