Had a pleasant stay at Dallas - Irving Hostel. It's small and has a real homely feel about it. Location is good for visiting Dallas and Fort Worth by day as it's between both, but don't expect to be in party town at nighttime. The staff, Betty-Jane and Bill, were helpful!

My stay at wild Wild West hostel was an enlightening experience Ivan and his staff were helpful on my journey. One thing though, the TRE,which runs between Dallas and Fort Worth, does not run on Sunday so unless you want to chill out Sundays do not include Sundays to sightsee these areas.

Basically just some dude's house. If you are looking for a bed and a half passable shower then this is the place for you. Bunk beds were ridiculously high (no ladder), showers were filthy. I only stayed here as only hostel available. Experienced travellers will be fine but very far out of town.

The guys were more than accomodating! Definately go to Red River on a Thursday night! The local mexican is good as well and Joes for Breakfast is brilliant!

Great Staff, will make you feel right at home. Easy to get to downtown Dallas and to Ft. Worth on train. This house hostel is clean and comfortable with opportunity to meet other travelers in a safe area. Had a great time on my stay.

Great place to stay. Not actually in Dallas, but you can easily get there by bus. Really clean and comfortable. Nice big kitchen and lounge area. A very friendly and social atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.

The hostel is in Irving, outside Dallas. You can take the commuter rail into Dallas, which runs reasonably often. They also offer rides to/from Dallas for $20. A taxi will cost more than that, but that might be your only option after the commuter rail stops running after 11pm. I don't know why you're going to Dallas, it's about the last place in the world I'd recommend for a fun time unless you love the JFK assassination, but Irving Backpackers in a nice, character-filled way to experience it.

The staff here is great, and everything is very casual. They charge an extra dollar a night if you use your credit card. Check in and check out are really easy. They don't have locks for rent, you have to bring your own locks. They have a laundry room, and is not too expensive to use. You can rent towels for 1 dollar. The place is great, i just hope it would be a cleaner, specially the bathrooms, there were hairs everywhere and sometimes you could see pee stains on the restroom.

Very helpful owner and staff person, 11 minutes walk to the train. Closer to downtown Dallas than Fort Worth but a reasonable place to visit both from.

One of the dirtiest, messiest hostels I've ever stayed in but I actually had a good time there thanks to a good, friendly bunch of travellers staying there who actually talked to each other instead of spending their whole time on their computer or smart phone. Inconveniently located in a suburb a long way from downtown but reachable by public transport. More like staying in someone's very messy house than a hostel but friendly vibe and the woman who runs it is lovely.

I didn't feel comfortable there. Place is small and feels like you're in a trailer house. They showed all the showers when I got there, but what they didn't specifiy is some are out of order, and they have no heat in there, so its freezing. The dorm room temperature was too hot, then some UK guy turned on the AC, then it was freezing, and there were no blankets, so it was miserable for a while, until I found and adjusted the heat setting. Location is really far away from both Dallas and Ft Worth

More of a home than a hostel, its a very nice place to relax and meet new people. Half way between Dallas and Fort Worth and both easily accessible by train.

The beds are covered with plastic material which makes a lot of noise and is unpleasant to sleep on. The location might be a bit remote. However, good value given nothing else is available in the area.

Liked very much the place. The people there are very nice and kind. And If I could stay more I would have enjoyed more the outside area, and maybe made more friends.

the hostel has a nice homely feel about it and was nice and accommodating. it is not in the best location however it is only a short walk to the bus and train station which will take you to both fort worth and downtown dallas. the staff are very nice and friendly and both helpful. i would recommend this hostel to anyone who is going to go to dallas.
