I would appreciate it if you could remind your guests that there are other residents who might be trying to sleep after 11 pm. Many young guests were still calling out to each other, running up the hall and singing until well after midnight. Maybe a sign near every corridor and the consequences to them of poor behaviour. The TV in my room (1036) seems to get a poor reception and maybe could do with an overhall. I loved the sauna and steam room after a hard day of sightseeing. Thanks Maybe ano

The showers , sinks, toilets etc were very dirty. No wonder, when there are so few for so many people and obviously cleaning was there only in the morning. The fitness center on the third floor was clean, but I saw the facilities on the 10th and on the twelves floor and we stayed on the 9th.Not only dirty, but as well in a bad shape, the water taps for instance. After 3 days we decided to have our shower etc in the fitness center.

I had a private room and although small, it was perfectly adequate and clean. Perfect for what I wanted and required. Once I worked out when to get to the bathrooms it was fine ,otherwise the queues got long as the toilet handbaisin and showers are all in the same room which can cause hold ups.

Never been to a such bad hostel... It is frightening.. the toilets are not clean and the rooms as well... it looks like a far west place... and 90 dollars for 1 night is more than the triple it is worth... stay away!

I enjoyer my 3rd. stay. The only negative comments I have involves the lack of the ability to speak English of the cleaning staff. I came back early on 2 occassions and found cleaners in my room when the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. I also wonder what is the use of a lamp that can not be moved to the desk area or to the head of the bed due to the short cord and the placement of the only electric outlet ?

8th floor rooms and sanitary need to be renovated. Impossible to open the window. The ventilation was very noisy.

We made a reservation for a double room, so two beds next to eachother. Instead we got a room with 2 beds above eachother. They told us that Hostelworld puts it on the internetsite as a twinbed and that this has been a problem they noticed before. We didn't get another room, but we had to pay the same price!! We filed a complaint at the reception and through email, but we never heard from them again. This also goes for hostelworld! Furthermore it was very filthy, especially the toilet and show

The bathrooms should be cleaned more often and an aircondition, a window or a fan for fresh air should be installed (it was quite stinky almost every day!). The location is good: next subway station is in walking distance, Central Park is not far away... All in all the hostel is average.

I had a private bedroom which was more than i expected for a hostel, the only poor thing was the bed since i woke up the 12 days with back pain. The bathrooms were quite clean which also suprised me. Staff is not crazy friendly but good and services included were very good (WIFI, cafeteria, towels, security, etc). The location is excellent, only 3 blocks from Columbus Circle subway which takes you in 5 min to Times Square or wherever. I would definitely stay there again.

Resources are scarce, front desk staff will not even look at you or address you when talking to you. Cleaning staff will not even knock when opening an occupied room to do the cleaning.... It has been a very strange experience

Very small room with bunk beds, really there is a the bed and a desk+TV, but it's Manhattan and the location is just awesome. The room are for two persons, so you have a private room when you are two, it's convenient if you have a lot of stuff or if you are afraid that someone can steal your stuff. There is a swimming pool and free wifi downstairs. However, it's not like most hostel, there is no organized party or common stuff, that the negative point.

The condition of the room, hallways, & bathroom was atrocious. I wish I could upload the photos I took of the paint peeling & chunks of plaster missing from the walls in my room. Having curtains instead of blinds blocked the A/C from the window unit unless you kept them open, allowing anyone to see into your room at night. Worst of all, the maid put new towels in my room for the next person BEFORE I checked out. Made me question if the towel I had used was clean. Staff & location were great tho.

the staff here were a million times more welcoming and helpful then those at the YMCA vanderbilt. amazing location right next to central park and in a very nice area where there are countless restaurants, cinemas and supermarkets. rooms are a tight squeeze and not really worth the cost but its new york, and the location makes up for it (as well as being 2min walk from the subway station)

Bad beds and bathrooms (toilet not flushing, water leaking from faucets, showers with curtain only and water hard to adjust - too hot or cold, should be cleaned more often).

We stayed there 6 nights and they were very pleasant. the Security staff were excellent however some of the staff at the reception could have been a little friendlier. The bathrooms were good and kept clean by the cleaners. i loved the clean white towels every day! and wifi downstairs was goood. Really enjoyed our stay there and excellent location.

Bathrooms was discusting... blocked up toilets filled with human waste... no cold water, only extremely hot ... the bedroom room itself wasn't secure, people walked into our room by accident when in the room. The room was basic bunk beds but uncomfortable. East side ymca is far better. Wouldn't recommend this hostel.

the room was dirty and the photos didn't show accurate quality of the accomodation. The staff were not very friendly and the there were mice. The bathrooms were filthy and had to be shared with the whole floor and as a female travelling alone i didn't feel very safe with the majority of the people i encounted were drunk middle aged men. The best part about the hostel is the location.
