Beware of the check out. The convenient lockers won't work past your 10am checkout.

Great building, clean, nice, modern. Close to the train station, close to cheap food options, along with heaps of restaurants and bars. Nice big rooms with air con, great big clean bathrooms. Good solid internet throughout the building. Very comfortable hostel to stay in and I'm fussy lol! Highly Recommend!!!!

One of the best, if not THE best hostel I've stayed at. Excellent central location, very helpful staff and plenty of tips and advice on the walls in reception. Rooms were always clean and had big lockers so that our stuff was safe. Cracking pizza cafe just next door. The shower was a power shower but the clip to hold it up had broken! The only aspect to improve is the very slow WiFi which is pointless as it doesn't work. Highly recommended, has to be one, if not the best hostel in Europe.

The hostel is huge and well decorated but it lacks atmosphere and the rooms aren't cleaned often. The location is really the best thing, you're in the centre of town. Its just an average hostel.

Excellent place to stay overall, very clean, wifi is acceptable but isn't the most important thing while you're away right! Nice people, comfy beds and security is fab! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we will definitely recommend it and return!

The Budapest Wombats hostel felt more like a hotel! Really really nice. I was very impressed with not only the facility but also the amounts of things to do in town and the helpfulness of the staff. Loved it.

Very good hostel.

Like a hotel (a good one) but pimped out with everything a backpacker could want. Only downside is that, because it's so large and like a hotel, it's a bit impersonal and harder to make connections. Know what you want!

There's nothing really to complain about the hostel. It's really clean, the facilities are good, staff will help you out with everything you need but... It's just really big and maybe a bit too clean. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I personally need a bit more character. But when it comes to so called "chain hostels", Wombats is by far the best and actually good value for your money. The common area is good, equipped with a nice bar, a pool table and plenty of places to sit and hang out

Excellent location and a very friendly staff; Hostel has a good feel to it; More provisions / cleanliness in the toilet would make it a best in class hostel for the price range they charge

When I arrived, it seemed like the McDonalds of hostels. It was this mammoth machine. However my initial prejudice was softened at evening drinks and the very amicable staff at the front counter, who were really helpful. The wifi is no good at all when there is a lot of traffic and is only working downstairs. The kitchen and washing facilities were great, the rooms spacious and well-ventilated. All in all I really enjoyed the socialiable atmosphere and bang for the buck.

Very very very big hostel. Wifi is bad... Awesome lobby, nice bar, great location in Budapest. Too big to create a nice atmosphere actually and meet people easily. The breakfast is ok. Too bad they did not create a terrace on the glass roof

Great facilities, huge rooms, comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Perfect place to stay in Budapest because the location is so central and it's really good value for money. The only thing I'd say is it probably isn't the best place for a solo traveller as it's so huge that meeting people is quite difficult! So the atmosphere's not great, but other than that it is a perfect hostel! And you can always do a pub crawl to meet people :)

This hostel prides itself as being voted the cleanest hostel worldwide. How this is possible is very puzzling. Cleanliness was average at the very best. The biggest problem, however, was wifi. It was virtually non-existant. Any page as simple as google took several minutes to load. I spoke with staff. They said the it was so slow because they had over 400 guests. This is no excuse! If the hostel has the capacity for 400 guests, then they should install a wifi which can cope with 400 guests.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Hostel is very well located in front of the Gozdu Passage with amazing bars and very close to the famous "romkerts" (Szimpla, etc.) However: dirty room and the bathroom was particularly disgusting (floor) and smelt like sewers. The cleaning lasts 1 minute and was clearly not done properly. Toilets near the reception were not clean either. A bit disappointing for a wombats hostel !
