Well, security in the hostel definitely is a problem. The entrance in the building in not locked (well, there is a receptionist but he never even raises his head to look who is going in) and the door into the rooms is neither. Moreover, there are no lockers at all. We stayed in a dorm for 20 people and there were only two wall sockets so there is no possibility to charge your phone, tablet, camera... The bathrooms were filthy and the ceiling was covered by mould.
There are no lockers for your belongings and the doors don't lock which was a bit annoying.
There was no wifi in my roomy, there was frequently no toilet paper and the showers were flooded.
This hostel was great for two nights. Great location for walking to La Catedral, La Casa de los Conches, Plaza Mayor and the city in general. The rooms have heating, plenty of space and are pretty dark. The bathrooms and common areas are clean. Exactly what you would expect for the price, and no more.
This youth hostel was horrible. It was disgusting--the blankets were clearly dirty, the room was always dark and smelled like Body odor. The bathrooms were horrible- there was vomit covering one toilet stall and hair all over another. Someone yelled at us for whispering to each other merely to ask for a set of earplugs; yet when a group of belligerent 18 year olds came in at 5am screaming, yelling and turning on the lights in a room of 20 sleeping people, no one said anything besides us!
