The Solar do Cosme is a guesthouse located in a mansion full of verandas from the late 19th century, surrounded by forest, in a bucolic and safe street in Cosme Velho. Our breakfast is fresh and varied, and served on big tables where the guests can meet and share experiences. You can really feel like at home in the cosy living room, where you will find books, a cabled TV with Netflix and wi-fi. The owner, Marcia, has wonderful tips about Rio, and can help you organize your stay with the help of big maps and guides. Laundry and transfer services are available if needed.

Located in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro, in the neighbourhood of Cosme Velho, the guesthouse is 500m away from the train station for the Corcovado. The central location offers an easy access to Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, the Sugar Loaf, the Botanical Garden, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, Lapa, Tomorrow's Museum, Maracanã Stadium, Santos Dumont Airport and Novo Rio bus station. The neighbourhood possesses a great public transport infrastructure.

All our rooms are spacious, with air-conditioning and have a beautiful view. Our best point is probably our work team. We work with volunteers, coming from different parts of Brazil and the world, looking for new adventures in Rio. We look after our guests, making them feel like at home or received by an old friend.
