Hostel of the week: St Christopher’s Barcelona
Located directly opposite the airport transfer drop off at Placa de Catalunya, St Christopher’s brings a new meaning to the word CENTRALE. With a 9.7 customer location rating, mezzanine garden, in-house cinema screen and a banging bar, you can totally get why it was crowned “Most Popular Hostel in Barcelona” at this year’s Hoscars..
Partying is a rite of passage here, with fiestas every night at Belushi’s. The generous happy hour, pool table and the odd game of beer pong makes it super easy to meet tonnes of new pals. Rooms are spacious and decorated with unusual murals, and dorm beds have their own privacy curtains, plugs, and reading lights to make your own little cocoon. The morning hangover munchies are covered with a free breakfast every day. Boxes = ticked.
Spain may be known for its sun, sea and sangria, but there are many hidden treasures to be found in the dreamy city of Barcelona. The hostel can be your base for exploring literally anywhere, including the city’s many architectural masterpieces such as Gaudi’s Cassa Batlló or Sagrada Familia. Possibly the most incredible stained glass ceiling you’ll ever see is the Palau de la Musica, a traditional concert hall, tucked down one of El Born’s cobbled streets.
If you’re a nature lover, Barcelona’s mountains and rooftop bars are ways to view the never ending beach and sprawling streets below. Take a cable car up to the Montjuïc Hill, or go to Barceloneta Beach at dusk and moon gaze next to Rebecca Horn’s iconic sculpture, “L’Estel Ferit (Wounded Star)”
Need more convincing? Our customers can testify to this hostel’s awesomeness…
“This hostel is a pearl! Everything was perfect, the facilities, breakfast, staff, location… We just loved it! Will go there the next time we come to Barcelona and probably use the hostels from the chain in other European cities as well. We can definitely recommend!”
“Thank you for a comfortable and memorable stay!! We thought the hostel was incredible and had everything we were looking for right at our fingertips. Ps. The food at Belushi’s is stellar!!”
“Awesome atmosphere! So many opportunities to meet other travelers, especially when traveling alone. Great location. Definitely recommend.”
“Fantastic hostel. Lots of thought put into making the guests happy. And happy I was! Comfortable beds, good quality sheets, blanket, towel, curtains that you can draw across your bunk bed, lamps, an amazing (!) free breakfast, really clean. Awesome that the common area is part of the bar for the public too. Great atmosphere! You need to bring a padlock for the locker, but it’s really big. Internet, blah blah blah. I will definitely come back! 110percent happy!”
