I enjoyed my stay at Hi Halifax. I booked in a 6 bed female dorm with a friend. The rooms are big enough, have lockers, and are clean. My only gripe was that the window was inaccessible due to a bunk being against it, so it got stuffy. The washroom was right across from our room, clean & had shampoo & conditioner. Great common areas including a fully equipped kitchen, a hangout room with fireplace & tv, and a rooftop balcony. Good location, friendly helpful staff, and met some fellow travellers!

The hostel is nice and clean but I did not have the chance to have an explanation of how it works while others did… I don’t know why. Fortunately it wasn’t my first time in a hostel. And it can be very noisy… the doors are closing automatically and then people let them slam… it’s very annoying at times (morning and evening/night). Also I did not like the badge system. I prefer when there is a code. Even to go to the washroom during night you need your badge
