I've done many hostels in my life and this one is definitly a perfect one for a city trip to Halifax! Everything was perfect. If I have to add something that can be improved : curtains on bunk beds can be added for more privacy. I my mix dorm, most of the guests were older men (40/50 years old) but didn't get any trouble :)

The rooms were so hot and stuffy! There was a night that I slept on the open rooftop just to feel okay. I told the staff about it, and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I saw someone sleeping in the common lounge too. In addition to that, I had a roommate who woke up every 3 AM, slammed the locker doors, and was the loudest person ever. He also held his knife all the time, which scared me. I know that isn't a hostel problem, but it's worth mentioning.

great hostel, perfect location, super clean. the only thing (if I have to be picky) is that the showers are so so small and the rooms get extremely hot.
