Live only a few minutes walk up the hill from the famous surf break Playa Maderas at our Surf Hostel in southern Nicaragua.

During your stay at Hostel Clandestino, you can combine surfing with skateboarding in our private skate bowl, socializing with fellow travellers and enjoying the lush jungle from our yoga deck.

We know how important it is to have a nice place to cook up some fresh, tasty and healthy food before or after a long surf session.

No matter if you plan on cooking together with fellow travellers or just need a place to chop up some fresh tropical fruit bought from the food truck that comes by every five days to make a refreshing smoothie, our open communal kitchen is the perfect spot!

Make sure to bring some groceries (oil and spices,too) from San Juan del Sur in case you plan on using our guest kitchen.
There are a couple of restaurants (more pricey than typical Nicaraguan food) and surf shops around but no stores at all.
These days, a fruit and vegetable truck comes to the hostel two times a week (usually Tuesdays and Fridays).
Payment is made in cash (CORDOBAS) directly at the hostel, the closest ATMs are in San Juan del Sur.

Cancellation Policy: 7 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Hostel Clandestino i San Juan Del Sur roses for sit utroligt venlige personale og frivillige, der skaber en imødekommende, hjemlig atmosfære. Gæster elsker det veludstyrede køkken og den sociale, men afslappede stemning, hvilket gør det ideelt for solorejsende og dem, der søger en rolig flugt. Beliggenheden er bekvem for stranden, selvom turen tilbage er op ad bakke. Nogle finder sovesalene lidt små eller indelukkede.

I loved my stay at Clandestino!One of the best hostels I've stayed in for value for money!! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the vibes were super chill and relaxing, and the guest kitchen had everything you need! Definitely recommend! Can't wait to come back!!

Hostel Clandestino was a really beautiful place and my favourite hostel so far of my trip. I ended up extending I loved it that much! It’s very relaxing, so convenient for the surf (10 min walk on a hill but it’s worth it). The kitchen is so well equipped, the volunteers, staff and family that own it are amazing and really make it feel like home. The only thing that was missing for me, was just a place to get changed privately outside of the shower as there’s only mixed dorms.

Clandestino is one of the nicest hostels I've been to! It's in a perfect location just 10 minutes walk from Playa Maderas, and close to a few cafes & restaurants too. The hostel is really nice and clean, the kitchen is big and well equipped and the dorms and private rooms are nice. The staff & volunteers are great and the hostel has a really sociable but chilled atmosphere and there are activities most days so its a good place to meet people!
