Escape the ordinary and stay at Bosque Seco, a unique eco-hostel nestled in the middle of Colombia’s Tatacoa Desert. Our eco-lodge is surrounded by 15 hectares of tropical dry forest under restoration—a peaceful sanctuary for nature lovers, stargazers, and adventurers alike.

Cancellation policy: 1 day(s) before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check-out before 12:00 PM
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit and debit cards.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Bosque Seco! We were happy with the breakfasts and the one night we ate dinner, it was excellent. The location was brilliant. It was deep inside the desert which provided excellent oppotunity for star gazing, horse riding and exploring which we did on the bicyles avaliable for hire. The hosts were very kind and acomindating to us. They helped us get transport into VillaVieja and spoke good enough English to compensate for my terrible Spanish! (Cocinar not Cominar) There were a few downsides, however. These mostly revolved around the facilities. Most of all being the pool which looked grim. Nor myself nor my friends went in because of the green looking layer on the water but what can you expect from a pool in a desert? Also take into consideration how you feel about toiletting into a hole with no flush avalible. The heat makes for intense smells. That being said, it is a bioreserva hostel which focuses on warter preservation and an enviromentally friendly impact on the surrounding area. Overall, I do recomend Bosque Seco. Just take into considersation how you feel about basic facilities and your toiletting preference. If that doesn't bother you, get yourself there, go on a horse ride, rent a bike, get burnt to f*** and enjoy the stars.

We really loved our few days at Bosque Seco - if you are really wanting to stay in the heart of the Tatacoa then this is the perfect place for it. Everyone was extremely friendly and very accommodating with all our requests: bike rental, cold beers, recommendations around the area and even additional help which meant that they went above and beyond for us.
