The place is very close to one of the entrances to the park, but it’s the less tourist and developed among all of them. So basically you’re staying in the countryside with nothing around. For dinner you can only eat in the hostel and the meals they sell are quite expensive (between 25-45 each). It’s a family business and they are all very nice. It’s more of a hotel with private room and bathroom.

It was nice and the family running the place was very friendly and really trying their best to help. Unfortunately they did not speak that much english which caused several unpleasant surprises. E.g. We got stuck in the park because of a misunderstanding between us and the explanation from the hostel staff about where the free busses departed from. We ended up having to take a very expensive taxi back. Also no one told us you have to reserve a ticket for the glass bridge => we couldn't go.

Actually, we booked 3 nights in this hostel to explore Wulingyuan National park. But as the hostel is located really far away from the airport and everything else in Zhangjiajie city and our flight was at 7 in the morning, we had to change the hostel for the last night as there are no taxis at nighttime. The staff was extremely friendly and even gave us the money back for the last night. They gave us tips how to get around in the park, cooked dinner & breakfast and even gave us a dish for free.
