Welcome to Glencoe Outdoor Centre Hostel: Glencoe's latest, and most temporary, boutique backpackers hostel!
Set within Carnoch House, the historical guest house for Glencoe House and Lord Strathcona's Estate, the hostel is situated in the very heart of Glencoe village (only 300metres from the bus stop), yet remains quietly secluded amongst tranquil gardens, native woodlands and, arguably, the most beautiful section of the river Coe - accessible directly behind the building.
Return from the mountains to the warmth of an open log fire in our cosy lounge, one shower for every six guests, and the use of our outdoor centre drying room. We also have on-site parking and a secure bike store available for all guests.
There is a large dining room and a small kitchenette stocked with utensils, tea/coffee making facilities, fridges, toasters and a microwave. Gas hobs are provided in our sheltered 'outdoor kitchen', but we do not offer an oven. There are of course numerous cafes, pubs, and restaurants in the area...
GOC is a registered charity that normally hosts school groups from all over the UK, often with highly subsidised fees, in order to allow those from all walks of life to experience the majesty and natural beauty of the Scottish highlands as well as the numerous outdoor pursuits available within the area.
This August, while the outdoor centre itself is closed, we are opening as a backpackers hostel in order to fundraise for this core work, as well as to allow you the opportunity to experience this wonderful glen for yourself.
We are not able to offer any outdoor activities during your stay but we will happily share our wealth of knowledge on hikes/walks and alternate activity providers in the area.

Check in from 15:00 - 22:00. (Late check-ins by pre-arrangement only)
Check out 07:00 - 11:00.
