Pepper Hills Hostels is a trendy eco-hostel inspired by traditional Sri Lankan mountain village architecture. Surrounded by lush greenery and stunning mountain views, it’s the perfect place to relax, connect, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of nature.
We offer social common spaces, an on-site restaurant, yoga areas, guided tours, hiking, waterfall hunting, scooter rides, tea plantation visits, and a natural spring-water swimming spot for a refreshing dip. The atmosphere is calm and tranquil, yet social—ideal for eco-conscious travelers and backpackers.
Dorm beds come with privacy curtains and mosquito nets, bathrooms have hot and cold water, and our friendly staff are always happy to help.

Pepper Hills Hostels Ella tarjoaa rauhallisen pakopaikan upean luonnon ja vuoristonäkymien keskellä. Vieraat ylistävät uskomattoman ystävällistä ja avuliasta henkilökuntaa, kaunista puutarhaa luonnonaltaalla sekä yleisesti puhdasta ja viihtyisää ilmapiiriä. Vaikka se sijaitsee hieman kaupungin ulkopuolella, säännölliset bussit tekevät siitä helposti saavutettavan, ja monet pitävät rauhallista sijaintia matkan arvoisena. Ihanteellinen matkailijoille, jotka etsivät rentoutumista ja luonnonkauneutta.

The nicest hostel I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka, especially for the price. Very relaxing. Not a party place but social if you want it to be depending on who else is there. A little far out from Ella but can hire a scooter at a reasonable daily rate so this didn’t bother me. Would definitely recommend/come back

Beautiful hostel with amazing staff and views. A bit further out of town but the bus stop is right outside and only 100 rupees into the centre, and I feel like everyone should experience a Sri Lankan bus! They have lovely bonfires and a really good breakfast. Say hi to TuTu for me!
