Welcome to New Amigos – the first and only beach hostel on Ometepe.

Spent the last few days sweating your way through hot León or Granada? This is your place to cool down.

New Amigos sits right on the shores of Lake Nicaragua, where the constant lake breeze keeps things fresh. Swim straight from our beach, grab a cold drink, find a hammock and slow down for a while. We like to call ourselves literally the coolest hostel on the island – and we mean it.

We're located in the heart of Ometepe's backpacker zone, within walking distance of Ojo de Agua and perfectly located for exploring the rest of the island.

Want to explore Ometepe on your own? We've got you covered. We have our own scooters available for our guests, so you can rent directly from people you know and trust. Grab a helmet, get our favourite island recommendations and go explore.

During the day, life at New Amigos is all about the beach. Swim in the lake, play beach volleyball, chill in a hammock or meet other travellers over food and drinks.

When the sun goes down, the bar comes alive. We turn up the music, bring everyone together and regularly host social nights and events. Expect cold drinks, good music and plenty of new amigos.

And on Wednesdays? We take you to the party. Our hostel guests get a FREE shuttle to Wet Wednesday, so you can experience one of Ometepe's biggest backpacker parties without worrying about how to get there.

And when you're ready to call it a night, you can actually sleep. Our comfortable pod-style dorm beds give you your own private space, with privacy curtains, power outlets and a powerful personal fan at every bed.

Want to experience the local side of Ometepe? Join our fishing & cooking experience, where we head out with local fishermen before coming back to prepare and enjoy the catch together.

From November to April, there's another reason to stay with us: kitesurfing. When the seasonal winds arrive, we offer kitesurf lessons right from our own beach. Wake up, check the wind and hit the water.

New Amigos is for travellers who want the best of both sides of Ometepe: adventure and relaxation, social nights and comfortable sleep, exploring the island and lazy days on the beach.

Cancellation policy: 3 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check-out before 11:00 AM
Taxes included.
