We're not just a place to sleep. We're a social beach hostel where travellers from all over the world come together to make friends, share adventures and enjoy island life.
Picture this: waking up next to the beach, exploring volcanoes with your new friends, playing beach volleyball in the afternoon and finishing the day with cocktails, good food and great people.

### BEACH LIFE & SOCIAL VIBES
Spent the last few days sweating your way through hot León or Granada? You've found the perfect place to cool down!
New Amigos is located directly on the sandy shores of Lake Nicaragua, where the constant lake breeze makes us literally one of the coolest hostels on Ometepe.
Our beachclub is the heart of the hostel. It's where everyone comes together.
During the day, you'll find travellers swimming in the lake, relaxing in hammocks and beanbags, enjoying cold drinks or challenging each other to a game of beach volleyball.
**Every afternoon at 5PM, we play beach volleyball.** Everyone is welcome, whether you've played before or not.
Travelling alone? Just grab a drink, join a game or pull up a chair. Meeting people here is easy.
And when the sun goes down, the beachclub becomes the perfect place to share stories, enjoy cocktails and make plans for your next adventure.
### OUR OWN FISHING TOUR + COOKING CLASS
Want to experience the real Ometepe while meeting other travellers?
Join our very own **Fishing Tour + Cooking Class**, organised exclusively for New Amigos HOSTEL GUEST!
Every day from **3 PM to 6 PM**, we head out onto Lake Nicaragua with a local fisherman who has spent his entire life fishing these waters.
Learn traditional fishing techniques, enjoy the incredible scenery and discover a part of Nicaraguan culture that most tourists never get to experience.
After the tour, we head back to our kitchen, where you'll learn how to prepare your fresh catch before enjoying dinner together.
It's one of our favourite ways to bring travellers together while supporting local island culture.

### ACTIVITIES, ADVENTURES & NEW FRIENDS
At New Amigos, there's always something to do, and there's usually someone ready to join you!
We organise activities and help our guests discover the best of Ometepe.
**Here's what you can experience with us:**
**Fishing Tour + Cooking Class:** Our own exclusive experience with a local fisherman, every day for $25.
**Caiman Kayak Tour:** Explore the beautiful Río Istián with an English-speaking guide. Spot caimans, turtles, monkeys and tropical birds. Every Monday and Friday at 9 AM, we organise a special discounted tour exclusively for hostel guests for just 360 córdobas! THATS 50% OF THE NORMAL PRICE
**Volcano Hiking:** Challenge yourself with an unforgettable hike up one of Ometepe's famous volcanoes.
**Daily Beach Volleyball:** Join other travellers every afternoon from 4 PM to 6 PM. A great way to meet people!
**Scooter Rental:** We have our own scooters available for guests. Rent directly from the hostel and explore the island whenever you want.
**Kitesurfing:** From November to April, the seasonal winds make our beach an excellent place for kitesurfing. We are the only hostel to offer lessons directly from our beach.
**Ojo de Agua:** The famous natural swimming pools are within walking distance of New Amigos.
**Beach Days:** Swimming, hammocks, beanbags, cocktails and good company. Sometimes doing nothing is exactly what you need.
Whether you're here for adventure, relaxation or a bit of both, you'll find plenty of people to share it with.
### MONDAY NIGHT = HATSEFLATS!
**It's Monday. It's HATSEFLATS!**
Every Monday night, we bring backpackers together for our very own beach party called Hatseflats .
Expect a DJ playing old-school reggaeton, dancehall, Latin hits anddd we play ABBA.
No complicated plans. Just good music, cheap cocktails and a beach full of travellers ready to have fun.
**Every Monday | 7 PM – Midnight**

### WEDNESDAYS = WET WEDNESDAY!
We wouldn't let you miss one of Ometepe's most famous backpacker parties!
Every Wednesday, New Amigos organises a **FREE shuttle to Wet Wednesday exclusively for our hostel guests!**
Spend the day chilling at the beach, get ready together with your new friends and let us take care of getting you to the party.
No need to organise taxis or figure out transportation.
Just enjoy the night!
### FOOD THAT'S ACTUALLY WORTH GETTING OUT OF BED FOR
We believe a great hostel deserves great food.
That's why we put just as much effort into our restaurant as we do into creating a great social atmosphere.
Forget boring hostel food!
Start your morning with homemade avocado toast and poached eggs, American pancakes with caramelised banana, French toast or our fresh yoghurt bowl with homemade yoghurt, tropical fruit, coconut and cacao.
**And the best part? Order breakfast and enjoy FREE UNLIMITED COFFEE until 12 PM!**
For lunch and dinner, our beachclub serves homemade burgers, double smash cheeseburgers, our Mumbai Burger, chicken tikka masala, vegetarian and vegan dishes and plenty of other favourites.
And when you're craving something sweet, try our homemade banana ice cream!
Of course, we've also got cold beers, tropical smoothies and a cocktail menu to keep the good times going.

That's why our dorms are designed to give you comfort and privacy, even in a social hostel.
All our dorm beds are pod-style and come with:

**Cancellation Policy:**
Free cancellation up to 3 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or no-show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
**Check-in:** 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM
**Check-out:** Before 11:00 AM
Taxes included.

**General:**
No curfew.
