Majdas

"Majdas" is a small, family run Hostel with friendly atmosphere.

We have been enjoying running our hostel in more than 17 years now, winning some incredible awards throughout the years ( you can see some of those on the bottom of this page ). This year we won the Hoscar for the best hostel in the country, one big THANK YOU to all of our guests from the last season enabling us to win. New exciting season coming up so welcome backpackers and others.

This is the place for you who want to meet other travelers as well as to get a home-away-of-home-feeling in your traveling, to rejuvenate.

If you are interested you can hear some local stories here about how life was in Bosnia before and during the war and ever since and how things are today.

Fresh homemade cooked breakfast varies every morning and of course we have vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diary-free options, the price is 5 Eur.

If you feel like coming out of the city, exploring the surroundings and maybe experience some adventures we organize unique all day Bata's crazy tours that will take you to some special places all around Mostar region. Swimming  in Kravice waterfalls is a must in hot summer days. Traveling  back in time we do in Pocitelj – an unique medieval town, talking history, exploring, climbing some towers. And the last but not the least we visit, Blagaj - a very important historical site and a spectacularly beautiful piece of nature. We talk history, presence, the war. and experience some surprises along the way...

Back to the hostel, there is a fully-equipped kitchen connected to a big lounge area and a large outside area with a beautiful garden, where you can easily socialize with fellow travelers or just chill out. 

A cool feature in our dorms: no bunk beds, nobody's above, nobody's bellow, we're all equal ;)

We have some really nice and spacious private en suite rooms on the first floor with a separate entrance for extra privacy.
Very often we hear from our guests that our private rooms hold to the standard of a hotel:)

There is a secure private parking for our guests inside the hostel area for 5 Eur/day.

Considering the location, our Hostel is situated in the middle of the modern part of Mostar, a half way between the bus and train stations that are only 5 min away and The Old Town and The Old Bridge, 7-8 min of a very pleasant walk away.

We would like you to know that we are NEITHER A PARTY OR A HEAVY DRINKING PLACE.
However, a glass of wine or a beer works fine always, we just try to have some other types of fun in our hostel.
All common areas are closed between 23.00 - 08.00.

PLEASE OBSERVE: Our Check in time is between 12.00 - 22.00. We are closed for Check in during the night and very early morning.
You are welcome in to the hostel to leave your bags after 09.00 (If needed earlier you can leave your bags at the bus station for 1 EUR/all day)
Check out is latest at 11.00, but you can leave your bags at the hostel until departure.

Cancellation of a reservation is possible latest 48 hours before the day of the arrival, otherwise we have to charge for the first night.
