Overview

Set in a historic building in the heart of Budapest, Adagio Hostel 2.0 Basilica is a home-from-home that backpackers fall in love with. We'll hook you up with everything from free Wi-Fi access and free unlimited coffee and tea to cooking facilities and laundry facilities right here at the hostel. We have an elevator, too, so you won't need to lug your heavy bags up and down the stairs! Our lounge areas and bar offer the perfect space to socialise with other travellers, while our on-site mini supermarket makes catering for yourself easy.

Location

We have a great central location, right on the bustling main boulevard of Budapest. To make things nice and easy, our nearest metro stop, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street, is just in front of the hostel's entrance. If you're coming from Budapest Airport, take the airport bus (Nr 200E) to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station, then take the blue metro line (M3) to Deák Ferenc Square. From there, take the yellow line metro (M1) toward Mexikói út and travel to Bajcsy-Zsilinszky. This takes around 50 minutes.

Rooms and Dorms

We have private rooms and mixed dorms, all filled with natural light, wood floors and colourful interiors. Free linen and towels are included, and you'll also get lockers for storing your stuff, individual reading lights, and privacy curtains on your dorm bed. Our private rooms have en-suite bathrooms, as well as their own TVs. If you need a wake-up call during your visit, simply ask at reception.

Extras and activities

Reception is open 24 hours a day, so our team are always around to help out. We can provide you with free city maps and a free guide to Budapest to get you acquainted with Hungary and ready for some sightseeing. When you've ticked enough things off your to-do list, come back to the hostel and take it easy in the games room with the other guests or make the most of our board games and DVDs.

Really nice hostal. Big kitchen to cook and socialise and also lots of sofas and lockers in reception which is convenient if you have a later flight with check-out being at 10am. Brilliant location and the staff were really friendly. Bedrooms and bathrooms cleaned everyday, 100% recommend

Loved this hostel, really good for privacy with the bed curtains, it’s not a party hostel however it’s really easy to meet people in the bar. I would stay here again. The location is amazing easy to walk everywhere in town and safe to walk back alone at night.

It was a great hostel, the price is really good, the rooms are big and we had a really big locker to put our things on, the only thing I didn’t like is that there’s not allowed to drink your own alcohol, you have to buy it in the bar and it was actually pretty flat, the rest is great, amazing view in our room.

    Fabulous

Hostel is fantastic location and rooms were lovely. I appreciated the curtins around the bed and the bright colours. Frustrated that the staff of our hostel would constantly leave our door open throughout the day, yes we had access to lockers, but coming back to find the door constantly wide open, made me feel that my belongings were less safe. Also absolutely no atmosphere or events happening at the hostel. Fine place to lay your head at night, especially looking for somewhere quiet.

Showers were terrible, also my locker didn’t work even after paying for a padlock, but location was amazing, close to the main sights and also view from the window were beautiful.

Everything was great until I had bed bug bites all over me. Literally everywhere. The reviews before did not lie (unfortunately I didn't see them until after the fact). The hostel did do all my laundry for free but did not refund my night because they said I could have gotten them elsewhere. Trust me, I did not. Be careful if you stay here and be sure to check. I was in the lofted space in the room right across from reception. It ruined my time in Budapest.

NOT GOOD The locker broke so we couldn’t keep our stuff safe €10 euro for washing and drying but they left our washing soaking wet in the basket all day so when we got back it smelt really bad and we had to wash again. bunks above us complained about bed bugs, we didn’t really realise what was happening until we woke up the next day and the whole room was covered in them. Staff didn’t really seem to care just told us to wash our clothes. So we got a refund and stayed somewhere else.

Extremely unorganised staff, everything going back and forth around in circles having the same conversation 4 times and getting no where. Dont waste your money here
