As you can see, they have amazing view from rooftop. Although you have to climb on many stairs to go to the center, but this place is worth it. The room was clean, the staff very welcome, the food also good!

I wanted my parents to enjoy the beauty that mcleodganj holds, really happy to hop into BACKPACKERS INN ! This is an ideal place to chill out while on vacations, it has a mesmeric view of the snow capped mountains, the terrace area is creatively decorated with cool & artistic things The rooms are neat & tidy, comfortable bedding, the staff boys are amazing The balcony view is same as the terrace view, thus one can enjoy the breathtaking beauty right from their rooms, also they offer lovely food.

Lovely staff and great location but the room was very wet, moldy and not very clean. The common area is nice.

Stairway to Hell..Backpackers Inn rooms have a gorgeous view, overlooking the mountains. But, they r based downhill where in to reach you need hike down and up which is extremely exhausting with heavy backpacks. Food is average. Cleanliness is barely there, rooms are filthy, lockers have broken locks, there is no security of the room whatsoever, the reception is on the top floor which means you need to climb 3 flight of stairs to check in.Interaction with Ganesh was good. i wont stay here again

The property is situated at a slope, you will have to walk down 100 steps or more to reach the venue, good luck incase you have luggage. Since they were running on full occupancy I think they forgot to clean the washroom before giving us, it has shoe print all over. We were told that the water was turned off as everyone were talking more showers due to the heat. The downstairs room was literally facing a dumpster due to which mosquitos were everywhere. Won't be visiting again.

The room was not cleaned once during our 2 night stay. In a dorm of 6 people there was 1 roll of toilet paper which we had to ask to be replaced each time. The staff were constantly high and had a disregard for our experience at the hostel. There wasn't constant running water, which other hostels in the area have and the water was freezing cold. Showers were not the best! There was no secure area for our things and the staff would let other residents change in our room and bathroom. Overall 👎

The staff at Backpackers Inn is very kind. The view from their terrace is beautiful. Unfortunately this hostel dint live up to our expectations. We did not expect any additional services but only expected our room and bathroom to be clean. Especially avoid staying in room 401, the water from the rooftop seeps in the room, making the room more messy. Doesn't seem like they change the bed linens regularly. The floor of the room was not mopped and room was very dusty. The hostel is under-staffed.

Very bad w.r.t basic facilities . There was no proper water supply for more than 2 days. I was there in between 31 May till 2n June . My stay was not even average there. Dissatisfied with cleanliness , basic amenities required even in hostels. Owner was irresponsible[ He keeps his cell phone switched off in nights and mornings] though his number is provided on website for help and emergency contact. Not recommended others to stay here

Unorganized, unfriendly staff. Had no recollection of my booking and they had no computer available to check- I had to bring it up on my phone to prove everything. Overall a very unprofessional situation especially for the cost of the room. I didn't get the sense of community while staying at the hostel, felt more like a hotel to me. The location was great- very central to where the Dalai Lama lives. However, the dogs outside bark all night long and it's impossible to get a sound nights rest.
