Property Description

Chari is the street name for “bicycle” in Japanese. It’s what you’d call that old bike you hop on to meet a friend for a drink in town. At CharinCo Hostel, we’re all about seeing Osaka as a local would.

The city has a convenient train system -- Dotonburi, Tsutenkaku Tower, Osaka Castle, and many landmarks are all accessible via public transport. But we believe slow traveling through the city on two wheels is the best way to take in all the sights, sounds, and flavors of Japan's food capital.

We have bunks, traditional Japanese tatami rooms, two chic lounges (serving ice cold beer), and, of course, bicycles for rent.

Our incredibly friendly staff knows a thing or two about Osaka and are happy to point you to a good time around town. But they also understand that the adventure is where your Chari takes you!

CharinCo is located right in the middle of the action. We’re just 20 minutes by from Osaka Station, and a mere 10-minute’s walk from Osaka Castle. And the rest of Osaka can be reached within 25 minutes away by bike. View House Rules

Was a really good place to stay, easy to get to from the station and not too far away from the center. The staff were really friendly and always ready to help. The hostel was clean and tidy, the kitchen was brilliant excellent facilities and you could even rent a bike free of charge for the day and go to Osaka castle which was very close by.

Free bike rentals are great - Osaka is very bike friendly! Free breakfast is convenient and the capsules in the dorm rooms provide comfortable privacy. It's in a quieter area of town, a quick bike ride to nightlife. There are little lockable, lockers that fit your passport for safe keeping. They also provide you a 200 yen discount off a drink at their bar/breakfast area. They also have a lounge with a patio for working/relaxing that isn't your capsule and isn't the bar area. Great hostel!

The bike rental is a huge plus and makes exploring Osaka really worth it. Staff are awesome people who are fun and have stories to tell. My only issue with the place was that there were no lockers to store large items like laptops or a camera. I'd definitely still come back here again but with locks for every zipper and bag - just in case. Awesome place overall! Met some cool people there .

The location is a bit farther from things but they have free bikes with deposit. The atmosphere is amazing even in a room with so many. The staff are super friendly. I wish I could have stayed here longer.

Breakfast was nice, though simple, and the front area with where the check-in and breakfast is served is nicely decorated and relaxing. Dorm-style beds are surprisingly private and comfortable. All toilet facilities are clean. Overall nice stay. Close to the castle but not super close to the rest of town, but it is always pretty easy to get around on the trains.

    Very Good

    25 May 2019
Location is pretty out of the way to downtown but the free bike rental is nice. Very clean facilities as usually things are in Japan. I guess the atmosphere really depends on who is staying there at the time but there is a nice space at the bottom to hang out. There were a few nice staff but one that was kinda pushy and just rubbed me the wrong way. Overall a nice place if you don’t mind not being in the thick of the action part of town.

Undergoing renovations which really limited the bar and first floor lounge. Upstairs coomon room was a bit cramped. Bed and bunks are very simple. Bathrooms have a communal area for getting changed, though the shower itself has a privacy door. Facilities overall were underwhelming and security minimal. Also would not recommend the staff organized pub crawl.
