Great hostel, clean and with enough parking space. You know you didn‘t come to Skye to spend your time in bed.

A classic hostel with soul. Large enough, comfortable common area and eating area. Houses students attending a nearby college. Students dominated the common area limiting interaction between travelers. The only hot water, at the time, was in the showers. Airy dorm rooms. Kitchen, bathrooms and showers were good size. To be able to fully explore the Isle using public transportation, Portree seems to be a better choice. I would stay at the hostel again if I was traveling by car.

    Very Good

Location was close to food and supplies, but the kitchen was sorely under-stocked for basics. The atmosphere was nice as well as the activities, but the building and beds were not well placed or sturdy. Wet towels and clothes never dried, the placement of bunks in regards to the uneven ceiling, made the top bunk difficult to mount.

    Very Good

Anthony, name assumed from the reviews, was truly nice and treated me like a fellow which I appreciate. Although I don't think it was particularly good and there were some serious issues, I simply cannot nag because 19-22 September 2019 were historical. Three consecutive completely cloud free and so clear & sunny you needed sunscreen! As a seasoned Highlands traveler, I know what the weather is normally like. This was ultra rare, therefore (almost) everything else is secondary.

For only sleeping this hostel is ok. The staff is friendly, the beds are good and clean. But the showers, dining room and kitchen are dirty. Expessialy the kitchen is very sticky and there is no hot water. We do not want to stay here again. It was the worst (and most expensive) hostel during our trip. (We stayed in 4 other hostels)

The hostel has all the basics, however: 1. The velux window leaked water all night. The staff member was only interested in whether the bed got wet, and showed no interest in whether anything or anyone else was affected by it. At the time of leaving, he was still sitting on his phone. 2. The shower had no fixing for the shower head. 3. The hot water in the kitchen didn’t get warm, which resulted in all the kitchen ware being poorly washed. If paying for multiple beds, I’d look elsewhere.

Stayed for 1 night in Sept. The YHA looked tired and, compared to others I've stayed at, was unimpressive. Looked a bit dirty, some fixtures old and broken (showers) and not good value. £62 for a private room with towels is far too expensive for what you get in return. Can't really recommend unless you are desperate for a room.

Had to book a double room in this hostel as there were no bnb's left in the area as I was booking last minute. Very sad that the property does not answer any calls before 5 pm check-in time, they also not at the property before 5 pm. I called and it kept playing a pre-recorded message about the check-in hours. The room was awful, very dark, unsanitary. The paper on the wall said do not open the windows or will be bitten by miggies, but the window was already opened and I woke up with many bites.
