Learnt the meaning of Loma the hard way 😄. After completing 4 days hard hike to lost city I was surprised by another strenuous steep hike to this hostel in the night at 9 pm no lights with my backpack, that’s when realized should have read the email hostel sent me about the instructions to reach hostel. You must be in a very good physical condition to reach this hostel ( just kidding) but yes it’s a lil out of normal hostels . But once u reach up there it’s absolutely worth the hike.

Best food I've ever had in a hostel. Special mention goes to the chefs for creating such amazing dishes. Great place for quiet and relation. Note, the hostel is situated on a hill, just be aware in case you have any physical limitations.

Omg looooove this hostel. The vibe is so awesome, the staff is extremely nice, people are fun, food is good, cocktails at the bar are great, awesome sunset view. I wish i could move in!!! Be aware you have to walk up quite a few steps to the hostel and the facilities are a bit basic, but you’re in the djungle after all :)

Such a lovely spot up in the mountains. The views are absolutely breathtaking, the staff is helpful and friendly, the hostel has a very social atmosphere but still quiets down early so you can get some sleep. We loved this place! Be warned the hike up is 10 minutes of steps and you will be sweating but the time you get to the top but it's worth it.

Casa Loma is a great hostel for meeting people, getting good recommendations for activities, and experiencing the Minca jungle. Pros: super helpful staff (good advice, calls taxis, good English), good food at the restaurant, best viewing spots for sunset (and cheap drinks), yoga, good social scene Cons: cold showers, dusty lockers for belongings, big hill to climb

First off, the stairs are a killer! But true to their word, a cold glass of water was handed to us as soon as we reached the top. And the sunset view is beautiful, with a DJ playing and happy hour cocktails - what more could you want. This is a proper eco stay, so expect cold outdoor showers, creepy crawlers and to tuck your mosquito net right in! We stayed in a basic hut and it did the trick. Also, the breakfast was superb so worth paying for. Really cool atmosphere overall.

    Very Good

The hostel was interesting, staff friendly and helpful, but the location was difficult to hike to with heavy backpacks after a hard day of hiking. It's beautiful to chill but the walk there is really difficult. Other than that everything is great. They have a vegetarian restaurant and we loved the veggie burgers.

Felt like we arrived right in the middle of a construction site. We left and booked another hostel instead. The views are not impressive at all, as it is very close to Minca village, you would need to stay in a hostel located higher up for truly amazing vistas. Sadly, bought into reviews and reality did not meet expectations.
