About

Casa Loma is now operating under our new name, El Bosque Mínca, meaning 'The Forest of Mínca' in the same unique location, over-looking Minca, the mountains and Santa Marta.

We are excited for this new phase under new administration.

Offering a home away from home is our promise.

Located on top of a hill with one of the most spectacular views in Minca and unforgettable sunsets.

We offer cabins, shared dorms, and hammocks, all surrounded by nature.

We look forward to welcoming you for a unique experience in the same place as always—now with a new identity!

Situated above the town (10 minutes walk uphill), you'll overlook Minca, Santa Marta, the sea, plus the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and forest all at the same time - truly unique.

Summary of traveller reviews

Casa Loma Minca offers breathtaking sunset views and a vibrant social atmosphere, perfect for travellers seeking connection. While the steep uphill walk is challenging, it's rewarded with stunning scenery. Some guests note that cleanliness in shared bathrooms could be improved, and the property can be noisy at times.

I slept in a hammock and I slept better than I thought. Also the sunset is great, so the hike is definitely worth it. The WiFi did not work in the “rooms”, but for one night that was no problem. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they let me choose another room where the lockers looked safer. Overall I would recommend it for one night :)

View of mountains from hostel is great. The open beds are comfortable. But we can’t use the kitchen and cook ourselves. The walk to hostel from minca main street can be little tiring but it is worth the view. Toilets are okay. Staff is friendly.

Incredible sunset from the terrace, and nothing else works. The dorm is filthy and clearly never swept. It is a wooden cabana with no walls, only half panels, placed directly above the common area where people socialise late. Zero sleep in two nights. The bed shakes when anyone walks by. No water pressure at all, just leaking. Vegetarian only food and a steep uphill walk, neither clear when booking. Great sunset spot, not a place to sleep.
