Overview

Clink78 is a brilliant base for discovering London's hidden gems. Our building is a former courthouse in the heart of King's Cross. Fun fact: Charles Dickens worked in the building and The Clash stood trial here! Hang out with fellow travellers in our TV lounge in one of the original courtrooms, or get involved in a game of table football. We host regular DJ evenings and live music in our basement bar, so you can dance until the early hours and fall straight into bed.

Location

King's Cross underground is less than 10 minutes' walk from us, so getting around the city is easy. Camden Town, famous for its markets, buzzing nightlife and iconic live music venue the Roundhouse, is one stop away. Pop to nearby Regent’s Park to visit London Zoo, and don’t miss Big Ben and Buckingham Palace – they’re just 25 minutes away. Our free daily walking tours and free city maps will help you fit it all in. From London's main airports, you can get the underground or the train all the way to King's Cross in around an hour.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got mixed and single-sex dorms, as well as private rooms – some of which have en-suite bathrooms. Feeling adventurous? Choose one of our private rooms based in an actual former prison cell! Bed linen is included so you don't need to pack a sleeping bag. For your peace of mind, all our rooms have key card access and security lockers (just remember to bring your padlock).

Extras and activities

With our self-catering kitchen and a budget-friendly buffet breakfast every morning, mealtimes are covered. Fancy a chilled afternoon? Head to our bar and play a game of pool. There's free Wi-Fi too for those Insta stories. If you're going out late to one of London's bars or clubs we're open 24 hours, so no need to rush back. More of an early bird? Check out our TravelSHOP at reception where you can buy discounted tickets for top London attractions.

    Fabulous

The hostel is in a good location with easy access to King's Cross station which made getting around London super easy. The hostel was well heated and had good facilities. The twin room was small and did not have much space for luggage but overall it was fit for purpose. We had the unfortunate experience to have a noisy group sharing the rooms opposite which kept us awake. We had a chat to the staff the next day and they were a pleasure to deal with. They were very apologetic and accomodating.

Good location, nice kitchen and bar area. Drinks are quite expensive though for a Hostelbar where you can’t bring your own drinks in. Got mixed signals from staff. Where one lady was super helpful and friendly when I forgot something another one was very very rude when we came to reception in the middle of the night for a complaint. Cleanliness is ok, could be better in the dorms self.

Good room and quiet corridor. Not once was there a queue for the toilets or showers. Breakfast is extra, but its a good one and good value for money

For London it’s not bad value for money. The staff were very nice, it was a lovely atmosphere with a pub downstairs where I could meet people from around the world. The only thing I can say is that there was nowhere where I could put my stuff when I was showering

    Good

Breakfast was very basic. For what they offer, it should be free. Staff was generally okay. One girl in particular wasn’t pleasant. The guy managing the breakfast entrance sent me up to reception to pay. When I got up there she refused to allow me to eat breakfast. It was 9:45 and breakfast ends at 10. She said there “wasn’t enough time”. If you’re going to have a cutoff time for breakfast, maybe you should mention that at check-in and/or on your website. Also, dorm rooms were FREEZING COLD.

The toilets were very dirty and the toilets didn't flush. The showers were pretty clean but the dorms were not clean. When I checked in, my bed had dirty bedding on it and I had to chase down staff to get clean bedding. Don't bother getting breakfast at the hostel, it's overpriced and there's no value for your money; better go to a cafe where you can get a cheaper and better meal.
