This hostel grew on me over the four nights. Location is good- not far from Atocha railway station and near Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol etc. Security excellent- you have to display your key card to enter and you get access to a locker which is big enough for a large bag or suitcase. Staff were helpful every time I approached them, including making telephone calls on my behalf to enquire about Toledo day trip. Cleaner was a hard working woman who did a good job. Laundry, kitchen all accessible.

Enjoyed the stay as it is very central to everything. Hostel is old but clean and quirky. Kitchen is great and easy to use though a bit strange because opposite the toilet. Dorm was clean and private. Wifi did not extend to the end dorm and was not very strong throughout the hostel. Staff are nice.

    Very Good

Super cheap and super basic. If you get that you'll understand that its great value for money. Excellent location, just in the middle of Madrid downtown with the best attractions nearby. Staff is friendly but kind of slow. I asked for an invoice and still waiting for it. Facilities are OK but not for fancy people. Beds are comfy and super private with those curtains, extra space to keep your valuable things and light and electricity on each one. Breakfast is the usual, cornflakes, milk.

Security was very sketchy here and none of the doors have locks. The lockers were also questionable but okay. Nice for a one night stay in Madrid but would not stay again because of the lack of security. Staff was very nice, kitchen and common areas very clean, also a great breakfast.

only wifi in reception, awkward bathroom layout and no hangers in each shower to put your towel, little sense of fostered community by staff, no shelf next to bed which is nice touch and helpful to put phone or glasses, super stable bedframes but no board by head so mattress slanted downward, clean linens, decent breakfast, very cool lobby and entrance, felt safe but slightly inconvienced by things i take necessity to make hostels competative for the price in this day and age.

Well, this hostel is not super bad. Facilities and cleanliness are good, the room I stayed in was not cosy or inviting, but okay. But for me it's really lacking in atmosphere. I personally did not like the vibe there. There's a huge TV in the common area which is running on high volume all day long, no matter if someone is watching or not, which is a no go for me in a hostel. It is super annoying and made both interacting with others as well as relaxing on your own impossible. Not impressed.

Very strange atmosphere here. The 'terrace' it says it has we couldn't find, but could possibly have been a porch at the front of a property which was always full of people smoking despite the no smoking sign. The guy (staff) who met us when we arrived was unenthusiastic, quiet and didn't really want to be there. Lots of broken things (such as a tap and the hob etc). Not much cooking equipment. Very good free breakfast though, but it finishes at 10am. The staff we saw the second day were better.
